Brighton Cocktail Co

27 May, 2023

Words by Samantha Harman

This delightful venue opened its doors in December of last year and is already making waves on the city’s cocktail scene. Expect to find luxurious decor and a hidden garden coupled with well mixed drinks and delicious light bites

Brighton Cocktail Co. is a hidden gem nestled in Seven Dials, with its vibrant turquoise walls and plush pink velvet seats. The venue is an Instagrammer’s dream, with every corner being picture-perfect. But it’s not just the decor that’s impressive – the cocktails and food are equally outstanding. I happened to visit during their happy hour, which runs Wednesday to Sunday from 4 – 7pm. I tried their Brighton Bramble cocktail, which was the perfect balance of sweet and sour, and beautifully presented with juicy blackberries. Alongside my drink, I ordered some truffle frites with black garlic mayo, and a cheese plate. The truffle frites were crispy and perfectly seasoned, while the black garlic mayo added an extra layer of umami flavor. The cheese plate was equally good, with a selection of artisanal cheeses and accompaniments that were perfectly paired. I was blown away by the frites, our server warned me they are addictive, with good reason.

Next up I tried Sex on Dyke Road, not literally – this is the venue’s take on the classic Sex on the Beach, featuring Limoncello and Aperol. I preferred this drink to the original and despite the high alcohol content it tasted like juice. The final cocktail of the evening was South Downs Spritz, locally sourced sparking wine with elderflower and soda. The perfect summer evening beverage. One of the highlights of Brighton Cocktail Co. is its secluded garden, which offers a serene escape from the bustling streets of Brighton. The garden is beautifully decorated and has ample seating, making it the perfect spot for a summer evening cocktail or weekend brunch. Speaking of brunch, Brighton Cocktail Co. also offers a delicious brunch menu on weekends, with dishes like avocado toast and buttermilk pancakes. And if that’s not enough, the chef comes from a Michelin-starred restaurant, ensuring that every dish is crafted to perfection. The team at Brighton Cocktail Co. are knowledgeable mixologists who are passionate about their craft. They’re happy to recommend drinks based on your preferences, and they’re always up for a chat. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Brighton Cocktail Co. and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vibrant and delicious cocktail bar in Brighton.
