Christmas in Brighton: 10 Festive Things To Do

28 Nov, 2025

Brighton truly comes alive at Christmas, from cosy igloos on the iconic seafront to the  twinkling lights and the smell of mulled wine in the stunning Lanes. There’s an unmistakable mix of creativity and coastal cheer. Whether you’re planning a festive day out, a romantic winter date, or a full-blown Christmas party, here are ten magical ways to celebrate the season.

1. Glide beneath the lights at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink

Skate in front of one of Brighton’s most iconic landmarks at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink, open from late October through early January. Expect festive tunes, fairy lights, and a rinkside bar serving hot chocolate and mulled wine.

2. Step Into Christmas at the The Brighton Centre

Join the feel-good show Step Into Christmas on Sunday 21 December. It’s a live concert packed with festive classics and plenty of sing-along moments, a guaranteed dose of Christmas spirit.

3. Storytime with Father Christmas at The Royal Pavilion

From 6–24 December, little ones can enjoy Storytime with Father Christmas in the Pavilion’s Red Drawing Room, a cosy, candlelit experience that’s pure festive magic.

4. Wreath-Making Workshops in Brighton & Hove

Get hands-on and creative at one of the city’s many wreath-making classes. Expect mulled wine, seasonal music and a chance to make something beautiful (and Instagram-worthy).

5. The Pepper Pot Christmas Market

Head to Tower Road in Hanover for the Pepper Pot Christmas Market a festive celebration of local makers, independent food stalls and handmade gifts.

6. Brighton i360 Santa Experience

Meet Santa in the sky with this festive experience at Brighton i360. Enjoy a flight 138 meters above the city, capture memories with a photo, and receive a special gift from Santa.

7. Bar Broadway Karaoke / Drag Shows

Based in central Brighton, go wild on your own very stage with up to five microphones meaning you can all sing together as a group. Or sit downstairs and watch some of the UKs best drag performers.

8. Glow Wild Lantern Trail at Wakehurst

Just outside Brighton, the Glow Wild trail transforms Wakehurst’s gardens into a wonderland of light and sound, perfect for families or romantic evenings.

9. Festive Lights and Shopping in The Lanes

Wander The Lanes and North Laine for independent shops, cosy cafés and Brighton’s best Christmas lights. Bring your camera, it’s postcard-perfect this time of year.

10. Make It a Seaside Staycation

With hotels and guesthouses offering festive packages why not make a weekend of it? Treat yourself to a mini Brighton Christmas escape by the sea.
