October Unpacked 2026

October Unpacked 2026 | When the summer crowds begin to fade and the evenings draw in, Brighton will prepare to prove that the city’s creative spirit doesn’t hibernate when autumn arrives. October Unpacked is set to return, bringing with it a month-long celebration of food, drink, music, arts and culture across the city.

Launched as a collaborative initiative between Discover Brighton, Brighton & Hove Tourism Alliance and Visit Brighton, the festival shines a spotlight on the independent venues, artists, performers and businesses that make Brighton one of the UK’s most vibrant cultural destinations.

Taking place throughout October at venues citywide, October Unpacked embraces everything from live music and immersive arts experiences to comedy nights, food trails, pop-up events and creative workshops. Rather than focusing on one central location, the festival encourages visitors and locals alike to explore different corners of the city and uncover hidden gems along the way.

Last year’s programme featured more than 100 events celebrating Brighton’s thriving creative scene, with independent restaurants, bars and cultural venues all getting involved. Highlights included curated food experiences, live performances and unique collaborations designed to showcase the city beyond the traditional summer season.

The return of October Unpacked also comes at a time when many local businesses continue to champion year-round tourism and community support. Brighton has long been known for its summer energy, but autumn in the city offers something different: candlelit restaurants, intimate gigs, cosy pubs, thought-provoking theatre and a packed calendar of cultural events. October Unpacked taps into that atmosphere.

From established venues like Brighton Dome to independent makers, musicians and hospitality businesses, the festival creates a platform for Brighton’s creative community to collaborate and thrive. Visitors can expect everything from live comedy and music to seasonal dining experiences and unexpected pop-up moments throughout the month.

The Food trail was also a roaring success and will return as part of October Unpacked in a new and exciting format being trialled across the city in July.

Whether you’re a foodie, culture lover, music fan or simply looking for new experiences closer to home, October Unpacked promises another packed programme celebrating the very best of Brighton in autumn.

Registration for October Unpacked 2026 will open soon…
