Brighton & Hove's best Beer Gardens

Brighton & Hove’s best Beer Gardens | When the sun decides to show up in Brighton, there’s only one thing locals immediately start thinking about: beer gardens. Fortunately, Brighton and Hove is packed with brilliant outdoor drinking spots, whether you’re after seafront views, hidden terraces or laid-back pub gardens perfect for long summer afternoons.

A perennial favourite is The Park View near Preston Park, loved for its huge outdoor space, relaxed neighbourhood feel and reliable pub menu. It’s one of those spots that feels busy without ever feeling overwhelming, ideal for groups or lazy Sunday afternoons.

Over in Seven Dials, locals continue to flock to The Good Companions, long considered one of Brighton’s classic beer garden institutions. With one of the biggest outdoor spaces in the city, it remains a go-to when the weather heats up.

For something a little more alternative, The White Rabbit in North Laine remains popular thanks to its outdoor seating, excellent craft beer selection and famously good grub, proving beer gardens don’t always need acres of space to deliver a great atmosphere.

If seaside drinking is more your thing, Fortune of War remains one of Brighton’s most iconic outdoor drinking spots. Sitting directly on the seafront, it offers unbeatable people-watching and sunset views with a pint in hand.

Meanwhile in Hove, Hove Place continues to be a standout for those wanting something a little more refined, with a beautiful leafy courtyard garden that feels worlds away from central Brighton’s weekend chaos. Community recommendations this year continue to rank it highly among locals looking for a quieter summer spot.

For those who prefer a proper neighbourhood pub, The Wellington deserves a mention. This much-loved local spot has built a loyal following thanks to its traditional pub atmosphere, darts nights and a surprisingly spacious beer garden that feels like one of Brighton’s hidden gems when the weather turns.
