One Garden Brighton: August events 2026
Looking for ways to make the most of August? One Garden Brighton is bursting with family-friendly events, creative workshops, delicious food and outdoor entertainment, giving you the perfect excuse to spend a summer’s day exploring the beautiful Walled Garden in Stanmer Park.
Food lovers are in for a treat throughout the month thanks to Kenny Tutt’s Street Food Residency, running until the end of August. Expect award-winning street food packed with flavour, served in the stunning surroundings of the garden – ideal for a relaxed lunch after exploring everything the venue has to offer.
Families can enjoy Tango Tots, an energetic dance session for little ones, while budding artists can get creative during the popular monthly Watercolour & Mixed Media Workshops, suitable for all abilities. Nature lovers can also join an Imagination Walk, encouraging children to discover the gardens through storytelling and play.
Adventure comes to the big screen on 8 Aug with the Frontier Sapiens Open-air Adventure Film Festival, bringing inspirational outdoor films to the Walled Garden beneath the stars. Then on 9 Aug, visitors can enjoy Flora Waters, a fascinating workshop exploring botanical waters and natural wellbeing.

If you’re feeling creative, don’t miss the Botanical Pottery Workshop on 23 Aug, where you’ll learn to craft beautiful botanical-inspired ceramics under expert guidance.
The highlight of the month arrives over the August Bank Holiday weekend (29–31 Aug). Pack a picnic blanket and enjoy free live entertainment, delicious street food, family activities and plenty of space to relax on the lawns. With live music, children’s entertainment and a welcoming community atmosphere, it’s everything a summer bank holiday should be.
Of course, the events are just one reason to visit. One Garden Brighton is home to beautifully landscaped gardens, independent shopping, a fantastic café serving seasonal dishes and locally roasted coffee, plus plenty of peaceful corners to unwind. Not to mention the newly opened Sussex Butterfly Garden.
With so much happening throughout August, One Garden Brighton continues to prove why it’s one of Sussex’s most unique destinations for food, nature, creativity and community. Be sure to check the full events calendar and book workshops in advance, as many regularly sell out.
