Filthy Gigdog Launches at The Old Market in aid of NHS ‘My Charity’

Every day, NHS staff across Sussex go above and beyond for their patients. Supporting them every step of the way is My Charity, the dedicated NHS charity for University Hospitals Sussex, helping provide care that goes beyond what core NHS funding alone can deliver.

Through the generosity of local communities, businesses and supporters, My Charity funds life-changing projects that make hospital experiences more comfortable, personal and innovative. Donations help provide vital medical equipment, improve hospital environments, support pioneering research and enhance patient care – creating meaningful moments for patients, families and the hardworking NHS teams who care for them.

The charity supports hospitals across Sussex, including Princess Royal Hospital, Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Southlands Hospital, St Richard’s Hospital, Sussex Eye Hospital and Worthing Hospital. By backing fundraising events and community initiatives, My Charity helps strengthen the connection between local people and their NHS, ensuring patients receive the very best care possible.

Filthy Gigdog at The Old Market

One of its newest fundraising initiatives is Filthy Fridays, a series of comedy nights created in partnership with Filthy Gigdog Promotions. Launching at The Old Market, Hove, on Friday 11 September 2026, the opening event will be headlined by the brilliantly sharp and mischievous Nabil Abdulrashid. A familiar face on British television, Nabil has appeared on Live at the Apollo, QI, Have I Got News for You, The Last Leg, Would I Lie to You?, Richard Osman’s House of Games, An Extra Slice, Pointless Celebrities and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

The comedy series doesn’t stop there. Future Filthy Fridays events will welcome top comedians including Angela Barnes and Mark Watson, alongside some of Brighton’s best emerging stand-up talent.

Filthy Gigdog Promotions, run by Kev Heritage and Guy Lloyd, has spent more than 15 years producing acclaimed comedy nights, Fringe shows and special events across Sussex. Their new partnership with My Charity promises unforgettable evenings of laughter while raising vital funds for local hospitals.

So round up your friends and enjoy a brilliantly funny night out at The Old Market. Better still, you’ll be helping your local NHS, with 70 per cent of all profits from Filthy Fridays going directly to My Charity to support patients, families and staff across Sussex.
