Kit Rice dives into a soulful new era with new album Deep Waters.
Brighton-based artist, songwriter and producer Kit Rice is making waves with the launch of his deeply personal new project Deep Waters – an emotionally rich collection of music that explores the highs and lows of queer love through the lush soundscapes of UK liquid drum and bass.
The first taste of the project arrives with the release of ‘Dive’, available now on all streaming platforms, following an exclusive premiere on TIDAL alongside the album’s title track ‘Deep Waters’. The album itself will unfold gradually, with a series of monthly single releases throughout 2026, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the story one chapter at a time.
Drawing on his own lived experiences, Kit has created an album that follows the full emotional arc of a relationship. From the excitement of falling in love and the comfort of shared moments, to heartbreak, distance and ultimately self-discovery, Deep Waters is both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Musically, the project blends the atmospheric textures and driving rhythms of liquid drum and bass with soulful, R&B-inspired vocals and intimate songwriting. The result is a cinematic listening experience that balances energetic electronic production with emotional vulnerability.
The album shines a light on the realities faced by many queer couples today, touching on themes of identity, secrecy, resilience and acceptance. Through honest lyrics and evocative melodies, Kit explores what it means to love openly in a world where that freedom is still not guaranteed for everyone.
Written in collaboration with a talented team of writers and producers, Deep Waters showcases Kit Rice’s distinctive ability to combine heartfelt storytelling with immersive production. His signature blend of melodic drum and bass and soulful vocals continues to set him apart within an increasingly exciting UK electronic music scene.
To mark the beginning of this new chapter, TIDAL hosted an exclusive listening event at New York’s Walker Hotel, where invited guests from the worlds of music, media and culture experienced the project through an intimate audiovisual presentation.
With Deep Waters, Kit Rice delivers far more than an album. It’s an honest exploration of love, loss and healing, confirming him as one of the most compelling emerging voices in contemporary liquid drum and bass.
