Kenny’s Rock & Soul Cafe

Kenny’s Rock and Soul Cafe in Brighton North Laine is a hidden gem for music lovers and food enthusiasts alike. Transport yourself to a bygone era of rock ‘n’ roll, soulful tunes, and mouthwatering comfort food. This charming cafe is a haven for those seeking a nostalgic experience paired with very decent grub.

From the moment you walk into the building, even before venturing upstairs you are greeted by the iconic artwork and prints of some of the greatest musicians of all time, from Blondie to Hendrix. The Beatles to Janice Joplin. All the greats are there smouldering from the walls, a reminder of when music wasn’t manufactured and love was free.

The atmosphere at Kenny’s is relaxed and you never feel like (or want to) hurry away. The seating booths offer privacy and if weather permits there’s an outside balcony area where you can watch the hustle and bustle of the Laines from a safe distance.

The walls inside are also adorned with vintage concert posters, vinyl records, and memorabilia, creating a vibrant and immersive ambiance. The playlist in the background adds to the overall experience, transporting you back to the golden age of rock ‘n’ roll, 80s and 90s. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always ready to strike up a conversation and provide efficient service.

Speaking of food, Kenny’s offers one of the best breakfasts in the city. The options are plentiful with vegetarian and vegan options available. A Discover favourite is the Soulful Meat option, which for only £9 comes with a crispy rasher of bacon, delicious good quality sausage, hash brown, mushrooms, beans, a fried egg and toast. You can double up for £2 extra.

In addition to their mouthwatering food, Kenny’s also offers a variety of beverages to complement your meal. From classic milkshakes to delicious coffee and tea. This is an alcohol free zone, so wholesome dining is the order of the day.

There is absolutely nothing generic about Kenny’s; this unique establishment is Brighton personified, colorful, quirky and cool AF. A must visit.
