Our Discover editor chats to Jules, the owner of this fabulous treasure trove of unique items that houses a surprising third room.
Take a stroll down New Road in Brighton, one of the most revered pedestrianised areas in the city and home to both Theatres and you will find a dazzling array of bars, restaurants and hair salons. There’s now a new addition to the lineup, Jules Emporium.
This delightful purple fronted shop is a must visit for locals and tourists alike selling everything from jewelry to vintage clothing and unique artwork.
Discover caught up with owner, Jules to find out more about this exciting new shop, who revealed, “we have curated a space where you can find a wide variety of unique and interesting things. We try to offer something for everyone and for every budget. With over three rooms to explore, you will find handmade art and jewelry, one-of-a-kind pieces as well as vintage clothing and new product ranges”.
Our artists and suppliers give us items which are exclusive to the Brighton area so when you come to Jules Emporium you will be sure to find something special!
“We are a small independent business showcasing lots of different artists and makers, bringing new and exciting pieces to Brighton. At our core, we are a gallery space which serves to inspire with each visit.”
The gallery space is to the rear of the shop and is a hidden gem that was being used as a staff room prior to Jules Emporium. Unlike the rest of the premises the ceiling is sky high and the room is unusually shaped with a fabulous parquet floor. Jules wisely decided to open this space to the public and currently hosts art exhibitions. She explained, “Our recent exhibition ‘Hidden History’ by David Apps, has had a positive response and we are likely to extend it for an additional month. As well as that, we are partaking in this year’s Artists Open Houses Winter festival 25th November – 10th December.”
