11/12. The Nutty Boys return to Brighton for their annual Christmas knees up. The band formed in 1976 and released their debut single, The Prince, on 2 Tone Records three years later. They toured with their label mates, The Specials and The Selecter before signing to Stiff Records and releasing their debut album, One Step Beyond…, the same year. An extremely successful run of hit singles followed and, from 1980 to 1986, their songs spent a total of 214 weeks on the UK Singles Chart. They split up in 1986 but in 1992 reformed and have been together ever since. They have just released a new album, C’est La Vie, and will be playing tracks from it tonight alongside all the hits. Support comes from Ian Broudie’s band, The Lightning Seeds, who created some of the most well-known tracks of the 90s including Lucky You, Life of Riley and Pure. brightoncentre.co.uk
