Pianist and broadcaster Julian Miles Holland OBE returns to Brighton with his popular Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and a show that, this year, includes The Selecter’s Pauline Black and Arthur ‘Gaps’ Hendrickson. Holland began his musical journey as keyboard player in one of the most loved bands of the seventies and eighties, Squeeze, before becoming a TV personality in 1982, presenting The Tube on Channel 4 alongside Paula Yates. After a foul mouthed slip on live TV in 1987 he was suspended from the show. Since 1992 he has presented Later… With Jools Holland on the BBC alongside the annual Hootenanny. The Rhythm & Blues Orchestra was formed in 1987 as the Jools Holland Big Band and includes original Squeeze drummer Gilson Lavis with the vocal talents of Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall. brightoncentre.co.uk
