Black Brighton Market

29 Jul, 2024

The vibrant city of Brighton will play host to the inaugural Black Brighton Market on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of August 10am-6pm, set against the picturesque backdrop of the city’s iconic Brighton Palace Pier. Organised with the support of the Brighton and Hove City Council, this event promises to deliver a unique and diverse shopping experience, showcasing talented traders from the BIPOC community.

Located in the bustling hot spot of Madeira Drive, the Black Brighton Market will bring together a curated selection of creative and innovative vendors who represent the rich tapestry of Brighton’s cultural landscape. From handmade crafts to unique fashion finds, visitors can expect a wide range of offerings that celebrate the talent and craftsmanship of BIPOC entrepreneurs.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Brighton and Hove City Council to bring the Black Brighton Market to life,” said Jade Hylton, Black Brighton Market founder and organiser. “This event is not just about shopping; it’s about creating a space where diversity, creativity, and community engagement can thrive. We encourage everyone to come out and support these incredible traders.”

Market stall spaces are still available for hire, offering an opportunity for more BIPOC traders to participate in this dynamic event. Whether you are a seasoned vendor or a first-time seller, the Black Brighton Market welcomes BIPOC individuals to be a part of this exciting weekend of commerce and community engagement.

The Black Brighton Market is set to become a flagship event on the city’s cultural calendar, showcasing the vibrancy and talent of BIPOC communities in Brighton. Join us on August 17th and 18th on Madeira Drive outside Brighton’s Palace Pier for a weekend of celebration, diversity, creativity, and community spirit.
