StylePixie / Seasonal Change

1 Oct, 2024

As we head into October, the new season is becoming clear. We sadly wave goodbye to the warmer months and prepare ourselves for the cozier seasons ahead. Pumpkin soup and hot chocolate anyone? For many of us this is a time for cleaning house, sorting, refreshing, and resetting. A top of that priority list for me is a style and wardrobe revision.

Now we all know the shops are full of new and exciting styles that offer a multitude of possibilities and temptations, but before you reach for the latest trends, have you fully considered what you already have?

As you pull the boxes of clothes packed away back in March or April, do you still love the pieces that you find there? Do they still reflect your personal style and lifestyle? Or are there a bunch of things in there that you could never completely make work, and you are not sure why?

Many of you may never have considered collaborating with a professional stylist during the seasonal changes, but the benefits are vast. Not only is it fun and informative, but a fresh set of eyes on things can help us to define our style direction. You would be surprised at how many fabulous outfits most of us have already hanging right in front of us. A good stylist will be able to advise on colours that compliment you, styles that work best for your body shape and lifestyle and will be able to show you how to accessorise your basics to make a multitude of outfits. Personal styling is not reserved for A-listers, the investment is often around the same price as a cut and colour at the salon. The long-term rewards are amazing. Increases in confidence are common as well as long term economical gains. When we know our style and we know how to work it, we tend to buy more consciously in turn, building a cohesive and fully functional wardrobe full of pieces we love.

There is a free guide to doing your own season wardrobe changeover available to download on my website. It is a simple step by step guide to get you moving with clarity. If you need a more directional approach, then get in touch, I still have a few spaces left for October.

Stay tuned, next month we will look at the trends and micro trend of the upcoming season, what’s worth investing in and what you should move straight past.
