The Old Market, Theatre Company 1927 And Together Co Collaborate On Heartwarming Pen Pal Project Being Brought To Life During Please Right Back Run In Hove This December.

In a heartwarming collaboration, independent venue The Old Market (TOM) and the internationally acclaimed theatre company 1927 are partnering up with Brighton-based charity Together Co during the upcoming run of the show Please right back, which takes place at The Old Market from Friday 6 to Thursday 19 December. As part of this partnership, audience members will be invited to participate in Together Co’s pen pal project during their visit to the venue, writing letters to help combat loneliness in the community.

The Connection by Letter Writing Project is a collaboration between Together Co and Best of British Events, who supported the charity by raising more than £2,000 at various events earlier this year. The initiative encourages audiences to connect with lonely or isolated people by writing letters, fostering a sense of togetherness and support. The project aims to build meaningful relationships, one letter at a time, offering a powerful way for the community to engage with those in need.

Mark Gordon, Marketing and Comms Manager at The Old Market, says: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Together Co on such a meaningful initiative. This is a wonderful opportunity for our audiences to engage with the local community and make a real difference in people’s lives. Theatre has always been about connection, and this partnership beautifully extends that ethos beyond the stage via the power of the pen.”

The partnership aligns perfectly with Please right back, the new production from the award-winning theatre company 1927. Known for their inventive use of live performance, music, animation, and film, 1927 presents a thought-provoking journey through the lost art of letter writing and the power of the imagination. The show’s narrative complements the message behind the pen pal project.

1927’s Please right back will be performed live at The Old Market, Hove, from Friday 6 to Thursday 19 December. Tickets start at £15.50 + venue levy each. To book, call TOM’s Box Office on 01273 201801 or visit https://www.theoldmarket.com/shows/1927-please-right-back
