SGUT & Coached Rules for a Bulletproof Christmas

27 Nov, 2024

At SGUT & Coached, we’ve got a simple set of rules to navigate the festive chaos. Stick to these, and you’ll sail through Christmas without undoing the hard graft you’ve put in all year. Let’s keep you moving, eating smart, and staying sharp while still enjoying the celebrations.

Rule 1: Movement is Medicine

Every day, we move. No excuses. Whether it’s a 20-minute walk, a stretch session, or smashing out a quick circuit, you’ve got to keep the body ticking. Movement first thing in the morning is non-negotiable. It clears the head, boosts the mood, and earns you that second serving of turkey (if you fancy it).

Rule 2: 3 Strength Workouts a Week – No Misses

Strength training is our foundation—especially if you’re over 40. Three times a week, you’re hitting those big lifts: squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and rows. These are your non-negotiables. They keep the muscle you’ve worked so hard for, torch calories, and keep you firing on all cylinders. Short on time? Supersets and circuits are your best mates. Get in, get it done, and get out.

Rule 3: Eat Like a Pauper, Feast Like a Prince

Here’s the deal. Monday to Friday, you eat clean. Lean proteins, loads of veg, slow carbs, and healthy fats—think simple and whole. This sets you up to let loose a little when the socials kick in. On those Christmas dinners and parties, eat like a prince. Enjoy the indulgence guilt-free because you’ve earned it. Balance, not restriction, is the key.

Rule 4: Front-Load Your Wins

Get ahead early in the month. The more consistent you are now, the less damage control you’ll need later. Stick to your routines, nail those workouts, and keep the weekdays tight. Trust us, putting in the work early means you’ll still fit in those jeans come January.

Rule 5: Don’t Be a Numpty

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Don’t confuse thirst with hunger.
  • Protein first. Every meal starts with a solid protein source—it keeps you full and fuels your recovery.
  • Plan your week. Schedule your workouts, and treat them like the most important meeting in your diary.

At SGUT & Coached, we don’t do fads or shortcuts. Stick to these rules, and you’ll enjoy Christmas while staying bulletproof. January will roll around, and instead of dreading the scales, you’ll be ready to smash the next goal.
