Brighton Music Hall / More Than Just Summer

29 Nov, 2024

As Mariah would say, ‘It’s tiiiiimmmmeeee!’ and nothing screams Christmas more than being warm and cosy inside your own magical festive igloo with views of the beach while listening to talented performers at Brighton Music Hall.

During the summer months, people gravitate to the space – the terrace is always crammed with visitors and locals alike drinking pints and dancing along to the varied vocalists.

Now summer is well and truly behind us, you’ll be pleased to hear adaptions have been made to ensure you can enjoy the venue all year round, even during the chilly months.

The space now boasts live entertainment throughout the whole of winter, and if you don’t want to sit outside (there are heated covered spaces free to hire) there’s The Fallen Fairy Bar situated upstairs which affords views of the stage and speakers that pipe the performances inside. Win, win!

Obviously here at Discover towers we needed to see the changes for ourselves and were invited along to experience the Sunday roast, inside our very own igloo featuring live performers including family-friendly drag artist, Ophelia Payne.

A winter wonderland awaited us, the igloos are roomy and festooned with fairy lights, fur covered seating and gorgeous Christmas decorations. Aside from the stunning aesthetics, there is also a heater and speaker so you can hear the performances properly while ensconced in festive magic.

We ordered a premium beef roast which manifested as a huge plate covered in tender, juicy slices of beef sirloin and two giant yorkshire puddings smothered in rich beef gravy. The sides were placed onto a wooden board with the crispiest roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, kale, red cabbage and a bowl of cauliflower cheese which passed the string and flavour test.

As the sun set, the fairy lights twinkled against the night sky with the other igloos adjacent to us resembling snow globes. The perfect time to share the chocolate fondue which was presented on a board adorned with marshmallows, banana, apple and strawberry slices, brownie pieces, pretzel pieces and Hobnobs with a pot of melted milk chocolate and tiny fondue forks for dipping. We also enjoyed white chocolate and pistachio Martinis which were a dessert in themselves also loaded with chocolate and whipped cream.

There are many places to go in the city for an amazing roast and this is one of them. Highly recommended by us, everything was on point and takeaway boxes were needed as the portions are huge! The team worked hard to deliver a special experience and this was appreciated. Before we left we enjoyed one final drink in the Fallen Fairy Bar which is also magical at nighttime.

Make sure you experience the igloos or beach huts for yourselves and look out for our exciting forthcoming social media competition – involving Karaoke…
