Restaurant Tour Brighton: A Culinary Adventure by the Sea

Six restaurants, six dishes, six wine pairings, one day of dining

Brighton’s vibrant food scene is no secret, and there’s no better way to discover its variety than by walking through it, bite by bite.

The Restaurant Tour offers just that, a curated, immersive tasting experience that celebrates the city’s independent food culture. Over the course of an afternoon, we explored six standout venues, each offering a distinct taste of Brighton’s culinary creativity.

We began at Blossoms, a hidden gem tucked away in The Lanes. Known for its Japanese inspired small plates and expertly shaken cocktails, it was the perfect light start. Bang Bang chicken and an effortlessly smooth white wine set the tone—elegant, unfussy, and delicious.

Next up was Moshimo, Brighton’s iconic Japanese restaurant. We sampled freshly rolled sushi, miso soup and crispy noodles. We opted for a soft drink here as it was quite early in the day and we wanted to pace ourselves, but wine was available. The vibe was relaxed but precise, as expected from one of Brighton’s longest-standing Japanese spots.

Twisted Lime brought a vibrant contrast. This cocktail bar and eatery served up a delicate mini potato rosti with a punchy rum cocktail which left us wanting more (but pacing ourselves).

Terre à Terre, often cited as one of the UK’s best vegetarian restaurants, offered a taste of high-concept, plant-based dining. Artful small plates were delivered with more delicious white wine.

From there, we moved to Indian Summer, where refined Indian cuisine met homely warmth. We tried a delicate rich butter chicken that balanced spice and creaminess perfectly. This was paired with a Mango Lassi that was incredible! The staff here offered fascinating insight into the dish’s regional origins, deepening our appreciation.

The tour concluded in style at Hotel du Vin, with mushrooms on toast and glasses of Muscadet wine in the intimate bistro. A decadent, velvety end to a day of variety and surprise.

Restaurant Tours isn’t just about eating, it’s about storytelling, culture, and connection. For locals and visitors alike, it’s a fresh lens through which to experience the city’s ever-evolving food scene.
