A whole lot of movement: Quarters

31 Oct, 2025

Quarters, the city’s hottest new music venue, picked up on what the Brighton club scene was missing before the rest of us even noticed. With killer lighting and clean-cut sound, it is, at its core, a room built for dancing – carefully and intentionally stripped back to the essence of musical escapism. If ever there were a language for EDM, Quarters gets it.

Channelling the interior strengths of London’s renowned Fabric club, Quarters is purpose-built with no-nonsense lockers, enhanced surround speakers and functional bars – these are not for leaning against. An elevated DJ booth with backdrop lighting gives the space an air of authority, signalling that you’re there for a reason. Side rooms for side quests have been stripped away in favour of one unified dancefloor. Think maxed-out Boiler Room: no dead corners, no style-over-substance gimmicks. Just pure, enclosed energy.

Still, as high-quality and cosmopolitan as it is, it doesn’t masquerade its uniquely Brighton roots. Tucked beneath the iconic arches – the doorstep to Fatboy Slim’s legendary beach party – it’s fair to say Quarters has a lot to live up to. Location-wise, it is quite literally built upon decades of club culture. The new design grabs hold of that underground, subversive spirit, dragging things back to an era of industrial rebellion.

It’s already the new home of the queer club night Polyglamorous – a space where freedom from inhibition and a commitment to safety have been core values, amplified by Quarters long before it even opened its doors. Alongside cult favourites, the opening months have already welcomed heavyweights from the likes of SHY FX and Rossi to Salute, Laurent Garnier and Jyoty. And November is nothing to be shy about, with mixmasters Bullet Tooth, Todd Terje and Swimming Paul on the bill. If you’re a big dog (or soon to be) in the DJ world, you’ve probably received the golden invite.
