Abba Voyage: a dazzling digital resurrection

30 Jul, 2025

Step into a world where nostalgia meets next-generation technology. ABBA Voyage is not just a concert, it’s a revolution. Nestled in the custom-built ABBA Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this spectacular show brings the Swedish supergroup back to the stage in a way no one thought possible.

Using groundbreaking motion capture and visual effects, ABBA Voyage presents digital avatars or “ABBAtars” of Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid, performing as they were in their 1979 prime. Created in collaboration with George Lucas’s Industrial Light & Magic, the illusion is so seamless that audiences frequently forget they’re not watching flesh-and-blood performers.

Backed by a live ten-piece band and accompanied by stunning lighting, cinematic visuals and a state-of-the-art sound system, the show delivers an electrifying experience that transcends the limits of time. What sets ABBA Voyage apart isn’t just the tech, it’s the heart. With a setlist packed with fan favourites like ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘SOS’, ‘Mamma Mia’ and ‘The Winner Takes it All’, every number is infused with the emotional intensity that made ABBA one of the most beloved pop acts of all time. Even newer songs from their 2021 reunion album, Voyage, fit effortlessly into the set, bridging the past and present with grace and flair.

The purpose-built arena itself adds to the immersion. Its 360-degree design and intimate scale create a feeling of connection – this isn’t just a show you watch, it’s one you feel. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering ABBA’s magic for the first time, the energy in the room is infectious. In an era dominated by fast-paced innovation, ABBA Voyage reminds us that music, memory and emotion are timeless.

It’s more than a concert, it’s a celebration of legacy, of reinvention and of the sheer joy of pop.

Welcome to the future of live performance.
