Brighton Rocks: A Hidden Gem

28 Mar, 2026
Brighton Rocks

Here at Discover towers we are always on the lookout to bring you the very best hidden gems the city has to offer. With On The Beach festival approaching, we recommend Brighton Rocks as a venue to pre drink or settle into after a long day of shenanigans.

Blink and you’ll miss it. Brighton Rocks bar really is a hidden gem in every sense of the word. Located down a small side street in Kemptown, this delightful indie venue is exactly the kind of place you hope to stumble across on a night out: the vibe is Brighton personified and a local’s best-kept secret. If you wander just off St James’s Street to Rock Place, you’ll discover this atmospheric cocktail bar quietly serving some of the best drinks in the area, alongside a warm welcome that keeps regulars coming back.

Originally reimagined under new management in 2016, the venue has evolved into an intimate dive-style bar inspired by the spirit of New Orleans. Inside, the atmosphere is eclectic and inviting: vintage artwork, quirky décor and comfortable seating create a relaxed setting perfect for meeting friends or a low-key date night.

What really sets Brighton Rocks apart, however, is the drinks menu. Cocktail lovers are well catered for, with a range of expertly mixed classics and inventive house creations crafted with high-quality spirits. The bartenders are passionate and knowledgeable, happy to guide you through the menu or mix something tailored to your taste.

Whisky fans are particularly in luck. The bar boasts an impressive collection of more than 120 whiskies from over 20 countries, with bourbon taking centre stage. Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast or simply curious to try something new, it’s an ideal spot to explore different styles and flavours in a relaxed environment.

Beyond cocktails and whisky, the bar also offers craft beers, organic wines and quality spirits, meaning there’s something to suit every kind of drinker. The laid-back vibe makes it a great place to escape the busier nightlife spots or nearby seafront while still enjoying the buzz of Brighton’s social scene.
