Brighton Winter Fayre / Returns With A Bang

29 Nov, 2024

This December, Brighton and Hove is finally going to get the winter extravaganza it truly deserves when three of the city’s most respected events professionals join forces to present the Brighton Winter Fayre – festive fun with a Brighton twist!

Whether you’re looking to catch up with friends, entertain the family, enjoy a festive night out, or dive into one of our exciting workshops, we’ve got you covered!

Running every Thursday to Sunday, from Thursday 5th until Sunday 22nd December, and set right in the heart of the city in St. Peter’s Church Square, the packed programme of entertainment includes workshops for adults and children, a covered food and drink area, ‘Winter Nights’ for the grown-ups and an immersive grotto like no other, created by Artpod.

On top of the Sunday Maker’s Market and Craft Fair, with stalls selling festive goodies and a whole range of perfect prezzies for your loved ones, Orange Beach Bars will be on hand every day serving hot and cold soft drinks as well as local craft beers, gins and cocktails, with the food village open from midday for lunch with an array of savoury and sweet options.

Every weekend is packed with daytime workshops and entertainment for the whole family and Brighton Winter Nights highlights include Happy Mondays legend Bez playing Madchester anthems and Indie favourites at ‘A Very Merry Bezmas’ on Friday 6th December, a fantastic edition of Black Deer Live presents Blue Rose Code – the headliner from this year’s Cambridge Folk festival and one of the best Americana acts around on Sunday 8th December, and ‘Barrioke’ with Shaun: featuring ‘Barry’ from Eastenders, and star of Extras on Sunday 15th December.

There are also dance nights that start at 7pm for those of us that remember the 90s but still want to be in bed at a decent hour, Big Quiffy Bingo from Brighton legend Boogaloo Stu, Bollywood dance classes, and of course carol singers.

On Sundays ‘The Venue’ (a beautiful timber framed yurt where the entertainment takes place) turns into a glorious Maker’s Market filled with local artisan food producers and original crafters selling gifts, decorations and local produce.

Entry is free with some activities and events ticketed.

Dates & Times for the Brighton Winter Fayre: Thursday 5th – Sunday 8th, Thursday 12th – Sunday 15th, Thursday 19th – Sunday 22nd December. Daily, 10am-11pm
