Connection Jam: March

4 Mar, 2025

Sunday 16/03/2025. 3-5.30pm.

Looking for your tribe?

Connection Jam is Brighton & Hove’s dynamic and playful social event! Expect great conversations, meaningful encounters and the opportunity to create real friendships.

Through guided activities that transcend everyday small talk, we invite you to a safer and braver space – where new connections are made and everyone is welcome.

Our games and activities are designed to foster instant connection and authentic sharing – you will be encouraged to drop in deeper than the usual patterns of surface level chat to reveal your more-true self – and be welcomed, exactly as you are. We make space for playful communication and real appreciation, and we don’t prescribe what sort of relationships you might create. So the question is: what sort of connections do you want to make?

Connection Jam is open to all, regardless of gender, sexuality, relationship status etc. Everything is optional, and you will be empowered in your choice to take part!

What to expect:
* Opening and closing circles
* Icebreakers (that are actually good!)
* Authentic relating games
* Guided, curious conversations
* A yummy selection of teas…and biscuits (of course!)

What to bring:
* ID / confirmation of your ticket (no need to print)
* Bottle of water
* An open heart and curious mind!

Please note…
This is an event for over 18s only.
Please arrive on time, as we close the space shortly after arrival to create a safer, closed container for attendees.
If you are feeling unwell at all, we require you to do a COVID test before coming, as we may have immunocompromised people attending.
We have chairs available if you have mobility issues or prefer a chair for any medical/health-related reason.
The space can get quite noisy at times during the evening due to the nature of the games and exercises with everyone talking at the same time and the hall being quite echoey. We empower you to always be in choice throughout the evening, so you can step out of any game at any time. If you know you prefer not to be in noisy spaces or might get overwhelmed by a loud environment, Connection Jam might not be your jam – please do what you need to do to honour your own needs and boundaries!

Your Facilitator
Dan Simpson (he/they)
A writer, facilitator, and coach who is passionate about the power of words. He has a qualification in counselling and is trained in Authentic Relating / Wheel of Consent, and has participated in tantra and men’s work retreats. He leads seasonal reflective writing club The Journal Circle, and facilitates creative writing sessions for businesses and in schools. With a decade of professional facilitation work, he designs imaginative and reflective experiences that encourage participants to express themselves authentically and creatively.

Important! Please arrive on time.
We open doors at 3pm and hold the opening circle at 3.15pm. We require that everyone is in the space at this time as this sets our container for the event. Here, guidelines and confidentiality is shared – and so you will not be admitted after this. Please arrive in good time for the start of the Connection Jam.

Afterwards, a few of us like to go the pub to continue getting to know each other – usually the Cow, down the road in Seven Dials.

Photography
We will take a few photos for future promotional/marketing purposes. You are always welcome to opt out of photos!

Our refund policy
If your circumstances change and you are no longer able to attend an event, then we are happy to transfer your ticket to a future date, providing you let us know at least 48 hours in advance of the event. If the event is sold out, then we can give you a refund providing you give us at least 48 hours notice – this allows us to offer your ticket to our waiting list. Within the 48-hour window, we will do our best to accommodate changes but this cannot be guaranteed.
