Dog-friendly pubs Brighton
Brighton is a city that loves dogs almost as much as it loves a good pub. After a blustery walk along the beach or a wander through the South Downs, there’s nothing better than settling into a cosy pub with your four-legged companion curled up nearby.
One of the most charming is The Regency Tavern. This flamboyant Regency-style pub is known for its velvet interiors, chandeliers and wonderfully theatrical atmosphere. Dogs are welcome, making it a perfect pit stop after a seaside stroll. On Sundays the kitchen serves one of Brighton’s most indulgent roasts and, even better, pups can tuck into their own doggy roast, meaning nobody has to feel left out of the feast.

Over in Kemptown, The Sidewinder has a laid-back, slightly quirky vibe that perfectly suits Brighton’s eclectic spirit. With a spacious beer garden and relaxed attitude, it’s a popular hangout for dog walkers and locals alike. Expect craft beers, generous portions of comfort food and plenty of wagging tails around the tables.
In the colourful streets of Hanover, The Constant Service (now owned by Good Times Pub Group) is a friendly neighbourhood pub known for its cosy feel and welcoming atmosphere. Dogs are greeted warmly, often with a bowl of water and a fuss from the regulars. It’s a great place to stop after exploring the hilly streets of one of Brighton’s most characterful districts.
Just a short walk from the seafront, The Farm Tavern combines excellent local food with a relaxed community feel. The pub prides itself on seasonal ingredients and a great Sunday roast, and dogs are more than welcome to settle in while their humans enjoy a leisurely lunch.
Another local favourite is The Southern Belle, a beautifully restored Victorian pub with a reputation for outstanding roasts and a lively atmosphere. Dogs are happily accommodated, making it a great destination for a long Sunday afternoon with friends, good food and the occasional canine cuddle.

Closer to the beach, The Lion and Lobster offers a maze of cosy rooms and one of the city’s most quirky roof gardens. It’s an ideal stop after a seafront walk, where dogs can relax while their owners enjoy hearty pub classics and a well-earned pint.
