SUMMARY:Franz Ferdinand
DESCRIPTION:Franz Ferdinand bring their electrifying global tour of their sixth studio album\, The Human Fear\, to Brighton Dome! \nEver since their beginnings\, throwing illegal parties in condemned Glasgow buildings\, Franz Ferdinand have been defined by a fresh\, unfading\, forward-facing outlook. A transgressive art-school perspective\, but with a love of a big song. A big riff. A big idea. Somewhat contrary. Unafraid to dance. Unafraid to think. Unafraid to fear.Their sixth studio album\, The Human Fear\, courses with an energy that makes you feel very much alive. Fear makes you feel alive. Awake. A life without fear is a life asleep. Fear is what shows us our humanity. It’s why we search for it in horror films or extreme physical activities. The most life-defining moments are shaped by fear: acknowledging\, accepting\, or overcoming it.Maybe this is a set of songs about fear. But maybe all that chat about Human Fear is superfluous. Maybe this is just a set of bangers from an era-defining band continuing their unquestionably living legacy. Is that something to be afraid of?Living a life awake. There is nothing that makes you feel more awake than The Human Fear. \nPresented by Crosstown Concerts \n

SUMMARY:Liam Francis Dance Company: Alchemy
DESCRIPTION:Liam Francis Dance Company: Alchemy. \nLiam Francis Dance Company debuts with Alchemy: a deeply personal double bill exploring identity\, community\, and transformation. \n\nIn Lyre Liar\, the former Rambert dancer and Dance Europe ‘Dancer of the Year’ nominee\, Liam Francis traverses his journey through dance; with excerpts pieces by Merce Cunningham\, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Kate Prince. With vulnerability and wit\, he unpacks the complexities of shifting identities\, the toll it takes\, and the questions it leaves behind. \nThe dynamic and intimate quartet A Body of Rumours\, is a celebration of music\, movement\, and brotherhood. Three young Black men—linked by rhythm\, trust\, and shared histories—move through a choreography that draws from ballet\, hip hop\, and contemporary forms. Set to live electronic music by Chloe Mason\, A Body of Rumours traces a journey from the tensions of isolation\, competition and comparison\, to the joy of connection and the beauty of bodies moving in harmony. \nThis event includes a 10-minute ‘curtain raiser’ prior to the show\, created by Liam and BHASVIC dance students. Liam and the dancers have reworked existing repertoire to re-focus on notions of empathy\, community\, and support. \nAbout Liam Francis \nLiam Francis is an award-winning dancer and choreographer who has gained international recognition through his dancing career with Rambert Dance Company and LostDog. His choreographic work has been presented in numerous cities\, including Hannover\, Rotterdam\, Rome\, Paris\, London and New York. Drawing on his background in contemporary dance\, ballet and hip-hop\, Liam’s practice seeks to explore his eclectic embodied knowledge to give form to human emotions and concepts centred around community\, identity and liminal spaces.
