SUMMARY:Flying Circus Art Fair
DESCRIPTION:Flying Circus Art Fair | Brighton Unitarian Church 23-30 May 2026 \nApplications are already open for UK-based artists to apply \nGet ready Brighton\, something BIG is rolling into town! Flying Circus Art Fair is Brighton’s first affordable art fair. It’s being organised by two Brighton artists\, both themselves veterans of multiple exhibitions\, BeauBottletops (Jessie Marie / Beau-Events) and Bobby Dazzler. \nYou’re going to be spoilt for choice as we showcase incredible art from over 150 artists as we aim to make this a standout on the arts calendar and must-see venue this Artists Open Houses (AOH) season. The week-long art show also coincides with the Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe\, a month-long celebration of arts\, culture and entertainment that brings thousands of tourists to the city every year. \nThe duo decided to start an affordable art fair in Brighton after noticing a lack of truly inclusive artist opportunities in the city. “Housed within the walls of the historic Unitarian\, smack bang in the centre of Brighton and a stone’s throw from the iconic Brighton Pavilion\, with an emphasis on affordability for all\, we’re giving artists the opportunity to sell their work in an amazing venue for a fraction of the cost of usual bloated art fair fees. In turn\, the art for sale will be affordable for buyers whilst keeping the quality super high\,” says Jess. \nMore about the pair \nBeauBottletops (Beau-Events) \nJessie Marie has been creating independently as BeauBottletops for over 10 years\, with her work appearing in multiple exhibitions and galleries\, including Kellie Miller Art Gallery\, and a recent commission from Toyota UK. She decided to go into event curation after understanding what was important to the artist community & strives to create a diverse\, inclusive & accessible platform with Beau-Events for artists from Brighton\, Hove & beyond. Curating Art Exhibitions alongside markets feels like a natural next step\, to create a larger platform to support & encourage the visibility of independent artists at an affordable cost for both participants & buyers. \nBobby Dazzler \nWith a career spanning more than 20 years\, multidisciplinary artist Bobby Dazzler has made\, exhibited\, and sold work all over the world. As an arts event co-ordinator Bobby has organised & curated shows in Australia\, Europe\, London & across the South Coast both solo and with up to 150 participants at a time. Whether it’s turning the entrance of the historic Fishing Quarter Gallery into a pirate for a Halloween show or turning a bar into an immersive Jaws themed homage ‘It’s all about giving artists & audiences a little extra when they take part in one of these exhibitions and we have a few tricks up our sleeve for this May’ says Bobby. \nWith over 200 artworks on show from local and national artists\, feast your eyes on this visual extravaganza of original paintings & prints & find yourself a new artwork or two this Spring.

SUMMARY:Momma's Got a Brand New Toy Kitchen
DESCRIPTION:Momma’s Got a Brand New Toy Kitchen @ The Brighton Fringe | She’s peopled her last please\, now she’s figuring out hey ‘why can’t she be desired’? Why can’t she be naughty? Why can’t she be made out of HDPE plastic? Her exterior’s hard plastic but inside she’s stagnant air from 1991. \nBex can’t hide behind a toy kitchen mask anymore… she’s 5ft8. A fragile woman made entity! Whose masquerading as someone whose normal. But not really. Instead of sharp edges Bex has soft curves\, a sturdy base and a small rack.\nWho is she but a toy kitchen? \nJoin whimsical and (sometimes scary) comedian Bex Turner for a (mostly) stand-up show of weird tales\, Autism and lots of crude Crudités! \nBex Turner is a high energy\, eccentric\, surreal\, stand up/character comic. Her likeability combined with her comedic sense of adventure makes audiences love her. She was a 2018 Quarter Finalist at Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year and a 2015 Semi Finalist for Laughing Horse New Act of the Year. \nFree\, ticketed but I’ll still let you in without one.\nDonations at the end. \nPhoto taken by Hannah Brackenbury\, 2026.
