Come on down to our Art Auction and enjoy some art with a tide of purpose! \nOur doors will be opening at 6pm to guests\, and we will be closing bidding for the evening at 7:30 pm\, with the event itself ending at 8pm. \nWe are still accepting submissions for this event too! DESCRIPTION:Folklore Sessions Presents; Allman Brown + Support\nThe Folklore Rooms\n22nd April 2026 | £15adv\n18+ \nAllman Brown is a London\, UK based singer-songwriter influenced by classic artists of the genre: Springsteen\, Bon Iver\, Paul Simon\, Tracy Chapman and Feist. \nA preternaturally gifted vocalist\, Brown has released three studio albums – 1000 Years (2017)\, Darling\, It’ll Be Alright (2019) and Second Son (2024) – and a number of EPs\, which have accumulated a quarter of a billion streams and counting across both Spotify and Apple Music. Many of these songs have been used during dramatic moments of US TV shows such as The Good Doctor\, Station 19\, Criminal Minds and Suits\, lending an emotional gravitas which has come to be associated with Brown’s music. \nHis heart-on-sleeve compositions have taken him on headline tours of the UK\, Ireland\, continental Europe\, Asia and North America\, and in 2019\, he was invited to open to Dido on her first run of live shows for 15 years – this culminated in two sold out nights at London’s Roundhouse. That same year “Dust & Heat” made the BBC Radio 2 playlist as well as the RTE Radio 1 playlist in Ireland\, helping to cement Brown’s evergreen appeal. \nBrown’s third album Second Son (produced by Grammy winner Peter Katis in Connecticut) was his first for Nettwerk Music Group and featured the well-received singles “Breathe In\, Breathe Out”\, “Bad Blood” and “My Ordinary Life”. These songs showcased a more electronic sound to Brown’s previous acoustic-based work\, without losing his trademark storytelling ability.

Born in Miami to a Spanish mother and Greek father\, she spent the majority of her early life bouncing between multiple cultures and wanting to adapt. The common thread anywhere she landed was her love for music. Piano lessons as a child led to days on end of writing and recording from her makeshift bedroom-studio as a teen\, which turned into years of collecting songs- all just to store them away. Though she took a detour career-wise\, she continued to play where she could and could never escape the urge to spend every day honing her first true passion. She played keys in a few bands and dabbled in open mics but always ended up feeling best in a dark room\, single-handedly curating dramatic and ethereal melodies. Set on finally sharing that part of her world\, the one most sacred\, she started with a small body of work that embodies a wide range of some of her deeply rooted experiences and influences. \n“You Will Not”\, her debut EP\, is a collection of songs that individually represent a place and time of her life\, amounting to a rather emotional rollercoaster that traverses geographical borders and genres\, hitting the highs and the lows of self-discovery.

DESCRIPTION:Kidical Mass Hove – The friends and family bicycle ride is back in Hove on Sunday 26 April 2026. This will be the sixth Kidical Mass ride in the city since the rides started in 2023. Kidical Mass celebrates the joy of getting around by bicycle\, and calls for more safe connected cycle lanes. \nThe Hove ride has four feeder rides: \n2:00 pm – Hove Cemetery North (Old Shoreham Road) \n2:00 pm – Stoneham Park \n2:10 pm – Wish Park (east) \n2:10 pm – Hove Park (south) \nThese will all converge on the seafront at the Peace Statue\, Hove. \nFrom there\, at 2:30 pm\, there will be one big circular ride through Hove. \nThe ride will be marshalled\, is free to join and open to everyone – children\, families\, friends and adults without children. We will ride at a gentle pace to ensure no one is left behind. All children must be accompanied by an adult. \nPrevious rides have been attended by hundreds of children and adults. \nKidical Mass in Hove is organised by local cycling groups Bricycles\, Brighton Bike Hub\, Brighton Multicultural Women’s Cycle Club (The BMWs)\, Clean Air for Brighton & Hove\, and Old Shoreham Road (OSR) Bike Train\, with funding from Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival. \nWe’re looking forward to seeing you there!

Originally developed as a digital sanctuary\, the Moments of Kalmfulness gallery has now been brought to life as a physical experience on Brighton’s iconic seafront. \nThe exhibition explores the concept of ‘kalmfulness’ – a state of feeling peaceful and balanced amid everyday life – and encourages people to embrace small\, achievable ways to reduce stress. \nKalmfulness can be found in simple\, everyday moments – from taking a few deep breaths to spending time outdoors or connecting with loved ones. This idea sits at the heart of the Moments of Kalmfulness gallery\, which brings these everyday moments to life through calming imagery designed to help visitors pause and reset. \nThe concept is supported by research showing the impact of visual calm. While 65% of UK adults say time outdoors helps them feel more relaxed\, over half (52%) say that even viewing images of nature or tranquil scenes can help them feel more at ease. \nVisitors can explore a carefully curated collection of images capturing moments of peace and tranquillity. Flirt Club is a space made by and for queer people. Whether you’re questioning\, trans\, bi\, ace\, gay\, pan or somewhere in-between\, you’re welcome here. \nDo I have to be single to come? \nNot at all! Flirt Club isn’t just for people looking to date\, it’s for anyone who wants to meet new queer people and feel part of a community. Come single\, partnered\, poly\, curious\, heartbroken\, or “it’s complicated.” You set your own boundaries — flirt\, friend\, or just vibe. \nDo I have to flirt? What if I just want to make friends? \nYou never have to flirt. Flirt Club is just as much about friendship as it is about romance or sex. You can spend the whole night making new pals\, joining games\, or having deep chats. Flirt if you want to\, friend if you don’t. \nI’m coming alone — will I feel awkward? \nWe get it\, walking into a room alone can feel scary. The good news? Loads of people come solo\, and the night is designed exactly for that. There are games\, gentle prompts\, “curiosity corners” and hosts to help get you chatting. You won’t be the only one flying solo\, and you probably won’t leave that way! \nIs this a speed dating event? \nNope — no timers\, no forced small talk. This isn’t speed dating. It’s more like a playful queer social with optional icebreakers\, games and cosy spaces to chat at your own pace. If a conversation gets good\, you’re free to stay with it. \nWhat should I wear? \nEach event has a theme\, and this month we’re going Off Script. Dress in a way that feels expressive\, a little unexpected\, or slightly outside your usual\, or simply wear something you feel good in. That might mean bold and playful\, comfy and confident\, a new look you’ve been wanting to try\, or your go-to outfit that always works. If you fancy a subtle nod to Brighton Fringe\, you could even add a bit of fringe\, but it’s completely optional. No pressure to dress up and no expectation to dress a certain way. Just come as you are. \nWhat age range is it for? \nFlirt Club is open to all adults aged 18+. Most people tend to be in their 20s\, 30s and 40s\, but we welcome all ages\, as long as you’re respectful\, open-minded and ready to connect. \nI don’t drink alcohol. Is that OK? \nAbsolutely. There’s zero pressure to drink. The Archives has a gorgeous menu with cocktails available classic strength\, one unit or alcohol free\, plus non-alcoholic wines and beers and softs\, so everyone’s covered. \nWe’ll even have a Flirt Club cocktail special (both alcoholic and alcohol free). Ordering a drink is also a lovely way to support our host venue and help keep nights like this going. \nIs the venue accessible? \nThe ground floor of The Archives is wheelchair accessible\, and you’ll be able to take part in the main areas of the night there. Some activities will take place downstairs in the basement\, which is only reachable by stairs. If you have accessibility needs and want more info or support on the night\, just drop us a message. \nWhat if I feel uncomfortable or pressured? \nConsent is the heartbeat of Flirt Club. All games and conversations are optional\, and we ask everyone to get verbal consent before any physical contact\, even hugs.
