SUMMARY:Sisters UK Tour 26
DESCRIPTION:Sisters UK Tour 26. Sisters arrive as an assemblage of people and ideas drawn across continents\, a story of blurred genres and chance encounters\, of uncontrolled expression and the flight of immersive performance. Following the release of their debut EP\, and with new visuals launched for the intense\, emotional long read of Creatures\, the hyped collective set out on their debut UK Tour\, taking in eight dates including London’s St George’s Tavern on Tue 4 August 2026. \nDrawn together while studying music in Liverpool\, the five-piece’s story stretches from Brooklyn and upstate New York to Baltimore\, Switzerland and a small town outside London. What emerges from disparate geography and artistic collectivism are songs that are unsettled and unsettling: weepy\, ethereal and grunge-inflected\, balancing resilience and fragility in equal measure. \nUnflinching emotional directness has helped Sisters build momentum quickly. Within a year of forming\, the band received BBC radio support\, headlined Rough Trade Liverpool\, completed an East Coast US Tour and appeared at showcase events across their adopted North West of England. Recorded performances for Low Four Studios and Studio Duke have further captured the chemistry that has become central to their growing reputation\, while coverage from local press and tastemaker platforms has followed closely behind. \nTaking that momentum on the road\, Sisters’ first\, comprehensive UK tour opens at Manchester’s The Castle on Tue 28 July 2026 and concludes with a hometown show at Liverpool’s The Quarry on Sat 8 August 2026. Their journey together continues through Leeds\, Bristol\, London\, Brighton\, Sheffield and Northampton\, featuring local artists in every city\, reflecting the collaborative spirit that surrounds Sisters. \nSisters UK Tour Dates: \n28 July – Manchester\, The Castle\n29 July – Leeds\, Wharf Chambers\n31 July – Bristol\, Cafe Kino\n4 August – London\, The George Tavern\n5 August – Brighton\, The Prince Albert\n6 August – Sheffield\, Sidney & Matilda\n7 August – Northampton\, The Lab\n8 August – Liverpool\, The Quarry \nSisters are Gigi (vocals)\, James (drums)\, Odelia (bass)\, Mira (synth) and Lewis (guitar). \nTo keep up with Sisters and future releases\, connect with the band online at sistersbandofficial.com

With over 60 million Spotify streams\, releases on Fantasy Records\, and appearances at some of the most respected folk and Americana festivals\, von Kampen has built a devoted global following. \nHer national breakthrough came early\, earning a Top 10 NPR Tiny Desk shout-out in 2016\, which introduced her thoughtful songwriting to a wider audience. In 2019\, she self-released her debut full-length album\, Old Country\, a collection of reflective folk songs that found success on Spotify and among indie bloggers\, establishing her as an emerging voice in the contemporary folk scene. \nIn 2021\, von Kampen signed with Fantasy Records and released her sophomore album\, That Spell\, further refining her lyrical and melodic sensibilities. The record expanded her reach and led to extensive touring and festival appearances. The following year\, she made her acting and film debut starring in the independent feature A Chance Encounter\, distributed by Samuel Goldwyn. Von Kampen also wrote and recorded the film’s soundtrack\, released via Fantasy Records\, showcasing her ability to translate narrative storytelling across mediums. \nHer third full-length album\, Sister Moon\, was self-released in 2024 and marked a deeply personal and artistic evolution. Inspired in part by the writing of Richard Powers\, the album explores themes of climate change\, environmental stewardship\, and humanity’s relationship to the earth. \nVon Kampen’s 2025 EP\, Before I Buy a Gun\, protests the resurgence of hateful rhetoric in American politics\, offering an urgent yet hopeful collection of songs calling for justice\, solidarity\, and compassion. \nIn addition to her recorded work\, Andrea von Kampen is widely recognized for her engaging live performances. Her shows are filled with storytelling\, humor\, and heartfelt connection\, weaving personal anecdotes and reflections between songs to create a concert experience that feels intimate\, welcoming\, and deeply human. \nVon Kampen has performed at renowned festivals including Newport Folk Festival\, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival\, and the 30A Songwriter Festival. SUMMARY:Intersections Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Intersections Exhibition | Considering our shared experience of the landscape\, KMA Gallery presents Intersections as a space to reflect on the forces that bring us together. Curator Kellie Miller has invited two of our artists who have previously crossed paths as student and tutor many years ago to come together again\, sharing their perspectives on the junctions of landscape\, humanity and memory. \nCeramicist turned painter Kate Wickham has always approached her work in a gestural manner. Based in Sussex but also inspired by Cornwall and France where she often spends time\, she finds the spaces between the land and architecture\, abstracting the topographical with map and aerial views. Each painting thus becomes multi-dimensional\, expanding the visual possibility of the plane through her intricate detailing and clever use of colour. Previously she favoured working on a smaller surface but for Intersections\, Kellie invited her to take her work to a larger scale with impressive results. \nAlso exhibiting at the largest scale he has ever produced\, Scottish ceramicist Craig Underhill has quickly grown a huge international following for his slab-built vessels via his popular YouTube and Instagram channels. His powerful works are reflective of the Cornish landscapes he traverses regularly\, based on sketches and drawings he makes which evoke a place or a moment rather than a literal impression. Capturing the atmosphere of the land through mark-making and use of natural materials like sand to finish his vessels\, his pieces function more as three dimensional paintings rather than traditional ceramics. \nThe exhibition will run from 27th June to 17th August 2026. Entry is free. Forthcoming exhibitions include “Porthleven 100” with painter Ashley Hanson in September; “Small Wonders II”\, a celebration of small works of art in November; and our 2nd annual Open Call Exhibition in 2027.

SUMMARY:Recomposed by Max Richter
DESCRIPTION:Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons \nA unique concert will take place on the 22nd of August at the atmospheric St. George’s Church in Kemptown\, Brighton. \nJoin us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter\, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. \nMax Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi’s music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012\, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. \nMax Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican\, the Paris Philharmonic\, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw\, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne MacGregor) at Covent Garden. Richter’s music is heard in many performances around the world\, as well as in the films «Shutter Island» by Martin Scorsese\, «Last Love on Earth» by David Mackenzie\, and «Waltz with Bashir»\, for the soundtrack to which he received the award «Best Composer» from the European Film Academy. \nThe Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most famous and frequently performed works of classical music. The Italian master wittily and gracefully captured in music the way his contemporaries saw the world and nature. The Vivaldi cycle is both a philosophical reflection on a magnificent illustrated «calendar» and a «sightseeing tour» of Italy. \nDuration: 60 minutes
