Rooted in the landscapes of the Great Plains\, her songs explore connection-to the natural world\, to one another\, and to the quiet moments that shape us. With over 60 million Spotify streams\, releases on Fantasy Records\, and appearances at some of the most respected folk and Americana festivals\, von Kampen has built a devoted global following. \nHer national breakthrough came early\, earning a Top 10 NPR Tiny Desk shout-out in 2016\, which introduced her thoughtful songwriting to a wider audience. In 2019\, she self-released her debut full-length album\, Old Country\, a collection of reflective folk songs that found success on Spotify and among indie bloggers\, establishing her as an emerging voice in the contemporary folk scene. \nIn 2021\, von Kampen signed with Fantasy Records and released her sophomore album\, That Spell\, further refining her lyrical and melodic sensibilities. The record expanded her reach and led to extensive touring and festival appearances. The following year\, she made her acting and film debut starring in the independent feature A Chance Encounter\, distributed by Samuel Goldwyn. Von Kampen also wrote and recorded the film’s soundtrack\, released via Fantasy Records\, showcasing her ability to translate narrative storytelling across mediums. \nHer third full-length album\, Sister Moon\, was self-released in 2024 and marked a deeply personal and artistic evolution. Inspired in part by the writing of Richard Powers\, the album explores themes of climate change\, environmental stewardship\, and humanity’s relationship to the earth. \nVon Kampen’s 2025 EP\, Before I Buy a Gun\, protests the resurgence of hateful rhetoric in American politics\, offering an urgent yet hopeful collection of songs calling for justice\, solidarity\, and compassion. \nIn addition to her recorded work\, Andrea von Kampen is widely recognized for her engaging live performances. Her shows are filled with storytelling\, humor\, and heartfelt connection\, weaving personal anecdotes and reflections between songs to create a concert experience that feels intimate\, welcoming\, and deeply human. \nVon Kampen has performed at renowned festivals including Newport Folk Festival\, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival\, and the 30A Songwriter Festival. Their success at home also saw some of the most culturally impactful brands approach the band for collaborations\, working with the likes of Gucci\, Dior\, Vans and Dr. Martens to name a few. \nKevin Septanto and Bayu Adisapoetra make up a trio with Mastro\, working together to create the genre-straddling Elephant Kind sound\, bringing together a multitude of inspirations and styles to craft something remarkably unique. With this new dynamic comes a new writing\nstyle\, with a full band involvement rather than simply a solo entity. The band’s forthcoming project is undoubtedly the start of a new era\, taking on board a fresh creative process to create arguably their most forward thinking work to date. \nWhen it comes to live\, the next year will see Elephant Kind introduced to a totally new audience\, with a whole new country of fans to engage with. Growing up in a musical family in Húsavík\, he began releasing raw\, early demos that led to his breakout single\, “Forest Fires\,” which is now streamed over 90 million times. His music draws from influences such as Bon Iver and Adrianne Lenker\, blending gentle folk\, ambient textures\, and emotional honesty. After years of living in Reykjavík\, Axel has returned to his hometown\, where he continues to craft reflective\, heartfelt songs – including new releases like singles “Nowhere” (December 19th 2025)\, “In The Grass” (January 30th 2026) and his upcoming EP\, Fleeing the Shore set for April 24th 2026.
