SUMMARY:The Constant Wife
DESCRIPTION:The Constant Wife Brighton 2026\nPrior to London’s West End. David Pugh and Cunard present The Royal Shakespeare Company production THE CONSTANT WIFE by Laura Wade. Based on the comedy by W Somerset Maugham. \nAdapted by Olivier Award-winner Laura Wade (Home\, I’m Darling; Rivals) from Somerset Maugham’s glittering comedy\, originally opened in Stratford upon Avon to marvellous reviews and sold every seat. \nIt’s 1927. Constance is a very unhappy woman. “Nonsense” says her mother “she eats well\, sleeps well\, dresses well and she’s losing weight. No woman can be unhappy in those circumstances.” Constance is the perfect wife and mother\, and her husband is as devoted to her as he is to his mistress\, who just happens to be her best friend. \nDirected by Co-Artistic Director of the RSC Tamara Harvey\, this sparkling new version will star Kara Tointon (TV’s Mr Selfridge and Winner of Strictly Come Dancing) and features original music composed by multi award- winning jazz artist Jamie Cullum.

SUMMARY:Jana Horn
DESCRIPTION:Jana Horn + Support \nFrom the first line on Jana Horn’s eponymous third album\, “nothing prepares you for this\, or is a cure\,” the tone is set for a record that is enunciated as it is open. Akin to the desert landscape where it was recorded-Sonic Ranch\, in west Texas-the work’s dry production and use of silence\, ringing guitar and discordant flute\, has a vitality calling back to early Cat Power/Moon Pix. \nRecorded essentially as a trio with Adam Jones and Jade Guterman-how the New York-based band performs-this ten-song album has Horn’s spoken-sung\, stark vocals in useful conflict with the melodic\, earworm quality of Guterman’s bass\, and Jones’ jazz and punk-influenced approach to drums. The flute and clarinet of Adelyn Strei diverges and coalesces\, spirit-like (“Go on\, move your body\,” “Untitled (Cig)”)\, while pianist Miles Hewitt grounds\, sometimes with a single note repeated\, like a hammer on a nail (“All in bet”). This third iteration from Horn reveals the artist at perhaps her most distilled and resourceful\, hitting on a feeling with a touch

SUMMARY:Franz Ferdinand
DESCRIPTION:Franz Ferdinand bring their electrifying global tour of their sixth studio album\, The Human Fear\, to Brighton Dome! \nEver since their beginnings\, throwing illegal parties in condemned Glasgow buildings\, Franz Ferdinand have been defined by a fresh\, unfading\, forward-facing outlook. A transgressive art-school perspective\, but with a love of a big song. A big riff. A big idea. Somewhat contrary. Unafraid to dance. Unafraid to think. Unafraid to fear.Their sixth studio album\, The Human Fear\, courses with an energy that makes you feel very much alive. Fear makes you feel alive. Awake. A life without fear is a life asleep. Fear is what shows us our humanity. It’s why we search for it in horror films or extreme physical activities. The most life-defining moments are shaped by fear: acknowledging\, accepting\, or overcoming it.Maybe this is a set of songs about fear. But maybe all that chat about Human Fear is superfluous. Maybe this is just a set of bangers from an era-defining band continuing their unquestionably living legacy. Is that something to be afraid of?Living a life awake. There is nothing that makes you feel more awake than The Human Fear. \nPresented by Crosstown Concerts \n

SUMMARY:Liam Francis Dance Company: Alchemy
DESCRIPTION:Liam Francis Dance Company: Alchemy. \nLiam Francis Dance Company debuts with Alchemy: a deeply personal double bill exploring identity\, community\, and transformation. \n\nIn Lyre Liar\, the former Rambert dancer and Dance Europe ‘Dancer of the Year’ nominee\, Liam Francis traverses his journey through dance; with excerpts pieces by Merce Cunningham\, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Kate Prince. With vulnerability and wit\, he unpacks the complexities of shifting identities\, the toll it takes\, and the questions it leaves behind. \nThe dynamic and intimate quartet A Body of Rumours\, is a celebration of music\, movement\, and brotherhood. Three young Black men—linked by rhythm\, trust\, and shared histories—move through a choreography that draws from ballet\, hip hop\, and contemporary forms. Set to live electronic music by Chloe Mason\, A Body of Rumours traces a journey from the tensions of isolation\, competition and comparison\, to the joy of connection and the beauty of bodies moving in harmony. \nThis event includes a 10-minute ‘curtain raiser’ prior to the show\, created by Liam and BHASVIC dance students. Liam and the dancers have reworked existing repertoire to re-focus on notions of empathy\, community\, and support. \nAbout Liam Francis \nLiam Francis is an award-winning dancer and choreographer who has gained international recognition through his dancing career with Rambert Dance Company and LostDog. His choreographic work has been presented in numerous cities\, including Hannover\, Rotterdam\, Rome\, Paris\, London and New York. Drawing on his background in contemporary dance\, ballet and hip-hop\, Liam’s practice seeks to explore his eclectic embodied knowledge to give form to human emotions and concepts centred around community\, identity and liminal spaces.
