SUMMARY:LSD and the Search For God
DESCRIPTION:Melting Vinyl presents:\nLSD and the Search For God + special guests\non Sunday 11th October\nat Komedia\, Brighton \nDoors: 7.30 pm / Start 8pm\nTickets: £23.50 + booking fee / £27.50 on the door\nStanding\nAge restrictions: 14+ Under 16’s to be accompanied \nTickets on-sale: Fri 6th March at 09:00 GMT \nLSD and the Search for God hit the Northern California coast in 2005\, seemingly from another place and time\, dosing San Francisco with hypnotic shows built on swirling guitars\, otherworldly drones\, fuzzed-out pop melodies\, and dreamy vocal harmonies. \nEarly shows and recordings drew comparisons to My Bloody Valentine\, Slowdive\, Yo La Tengo\, Spacemen 3\, and Sonic Youth\, helping the band quickly earn a reputation as a must-see act within the Northern California underground shoegaze and psych scene. \nTheir self-titled debut EP (Mind Expansion Records\, 2007; Don Giovanni\, 2025) sold out before its official release date\, earned critical acclaim\, and continues to appear on lists of essential shoegaze releases. \n“The San Franciscans’ washed-out guitarscapes and affectionate\, blanket-warm melodies resemble My Bloody Valentine jamming with Yo La Tengo.” ~ The Big Takeover \n“It was a night of exceptional intrigue and quite literally\, an other-worldly performance. The set bent and warped through psychedelic bliss. Crazed and incensed punters at the front of the crowd dictated spaces to writhe themselves around in\, one chap took to taking his top off\, letting his spilling gut loose and continuing to throw his head towards the monitor\, just in case it was not loud enough.” ~ Brighton Finest

SUMMARY:Lemoncello
DESCRIPTION:Melting Vinyl presents Lemoncello + special guests at The Folklore Rooms Brighton on\nFriday 16th October\nDoors Open: 8pm\nTickets: £16.50 + booking fee / £20.50 on the door\nSeated\nAge restrictions: 18+ \nOn Sale Date: Friday 1st May at 10am \nSynths and electronic percussion weaved into organic sounds… \nIt’s hard not to feel seen by Lemoncello\, a band whose live performances and recordings shimmer with the tones of modern Ireland. Their upcoming release\, Perfect Place\, evolves from the band’s folk-soaked roots and confidently explores intricate new shapes. Marking a bold new chapter for singer-songwriter Laura Quirke & cellist-arranger Claire Kinsella\, “Perfect Place” is imbued with assuredness\, featuring full-band recordings that weave synths and electronic percussion into the band’s staple organic sound. \nThrough an intimate and devastatingly personal style of storytelling\, the new album reflects upon the modern tension between togetherness and alienation and the chaos of human nature with radical acceptance and compassion. Perfect Place follows on from the band’s debut self-titled record\, which received critical acclaim from BBC Radio 6 Music\, Clash\, and The Line Of Best Fit. Described as “direct and refreshing”\, and “cathartic” by critics at Mojo and RNR\, the duo speak to listeners in the way that an ex or an old friend might – cultivating a sense of consolation that leaves audiences forgetting there’s a world outside of the venue. Lemoncello’s body of work is equally familiar and confronting\, driven by the palpable chemistry of a long-term friendship.

SUMMARY:Professor Brian Cox
DESCRIPTION:After performing his smash-hit show ‘Horizons’ to nearly half a million people across the world\, Professor Brian Cox is back with his new tour Emergence. \nBrian has appeared in many landmark science programs for BBC radio and television over the last 15 years\, from the Peabody Award-winning Wonders of the Solar System to the world-wide hit series The Planets. \n“I’ve loved creating Emergence – it’s the most ambitious live show I’ve ever written. I’ve been very lucky to collaborate with a wonderful group of scientists\, musicians\, film makers and graphic artists to bring cosmology\, biology\, philosophy and history to the largest and most advanced LED screens available\, with the best sound and lights I could find. I hope the show is an all-encompassing experience\, and I hope it leaves everyone\, whether they love science or music or history\, or simply contemplating the beauty of Nature\, with something new to think about.” \n‘A Jaw-dropping reminder that human life is both irrelevant and hugely precious.’ \n**** The Guardian \n‘Science and cosmology doesn’t get any more dazzling and interesting than this – a wonderful journey through space and time orchestrated by Professor Brian Cox.’ \nDaily Echo \n‘Is your brain hurting yet? Because mine certainly was\, but in beautifully\, mind-expanding sort of way…We came away with a new found of love of the basics of science and maths\, and a thirst to learn more’ Express and Star

SUMMARY:Pete Fij
DESCRIPTION:Pete Fij + special guests\nat The Green Door Store on Thursday 22nd October\nDoors: 7.30pm\nTickets: £12 in adv + bf/£14 on the door\nStanding\nAge restrictions: 18+ \nRenowned for his unmistakable voice and wry lyrical touch\, Pete Fij(alkowski) makes a welcome return with fresh solo material – unveiling songs that brim with melody\, wit and understated charm. \nPete first burst onto the scene in the early 90s as the frontman and guitarist of post-shoegaze / pre-Britpop band Adorable\, whose 1993 album Against Perfection\, released on Creation Records\, is regularly referred to as a lost indie classic\, with the band picking up multiple ‘Single of the Week’ awards in the NME\, and topping the Indie charts. Noel Gallagher once told Creation Records’ Alan McGee that dropping Adorable from the label was one of his biggest mistakes\, whilst other artists such as Ash\, Slowdive and Brian Jonestown Massacre\, amongst others\, have all expressed their admiration for the band. \nFollowing this\, he joined up with his brother Krzys to form the One Little Indian band Polak (Swansongs 2000 / Rubbernecking 2002)\, which took in influences from the likes of Sparklehorse\, Radiohead and dEUS\, and led The Independent to call him “the most gifted lyricist since Jarvis Cocker last put pen to paper”. \nThere then followed a musical exile\, after having what Pete now describes as ‘a musical breakdown’ before re-emerging alongside celebrated House of Love guitarist Terry Bickers to release two critically acclaimed albums as Pete Fij / Terry Bickers on 2014’s Broken Heart Surgery\, and 2017’s We Are Millionaires\, winning the Roundtable ‘Single of The Week’ on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6Music show – “Beautiful” (MOJO) “Unfailingly lovely” (UNCUT) “Stunning” (OHM) “Beautifully constructed” (Q). \n“After years of singing downbeat songs of melancholy and loss\, after waving goodbye to a long-term relationship\, after working at a care home during the Covid pandemic\, after seeing people off from the platform of life as a Funeral Celebrant\, I decided to have a reset.” \nSlinging back on the electric guitar\, ditching the job\, upping the BPMs\, and falling in love again has resulted in Pete embracing his fuzzed-up dream-pop past but also throwing in elements of pop and electronica. \nNow signed to Tip Top Recordings\, the title of his forthcoming LP is appropriately enough ‘Up’s The New Down’ (released 10th July 2026). The first single from the album\, the euphoric ‘Love’s Coming Back’ came out in November 2025\, followed by the dark\, more cinematic track “Cuckoo” in February 2026. \nPete’s lush and rich baritone voice has been compared to Lee Hazlewood\, Lou Reed and Richard Hawley in the past – and fans will be pleased to hear that\, if anything\, he’s sounding stronger\, more urgent and characterful than ever.

SUMMARY:Stornoway
DESCRIPTION:Stornoway \nMelting Vinyl presents\nStornoway + Alice Boyd\nSunday 25th October 2026 at Chalk\, Brighton\nDoors: 7pm\nStanding\n£25 in advance/£29 on the door\n14+\, under 16’s to be accompanied \nFan Club Presale tickets: Tuesday 14th April at 10am\nNewsletter & Album pre-order Presale / Spotify Fan’s First Presale: Wednesday 15th April at 10am\nGeneral On Sale: Friday 17th April at 10am \nDefined by Brian’s ageless\, clear tenor\, Stornoway’s songs are uplifting\, heartfelt\, and dashingly melodic; but the songs are just the start. This is a band that runs on curiosity. Producing their own records\, they take a bespoke approach to each track. With a wonderfully diverse range of instrumentation and an unmistakable joy in the creative process\, every one of their songs is given a very beautiful and carefully considered place to live – musically and geographically\, with recording locations including campervans\, wind-buffeted barns\, chapels and community centres. \nStornoway lit up 2010 with their thrilling debut Beachcomber’s Windowsill\, the culmination of a five-year journey with its starting point in a Freshers week meeting at Oxford University between Brian Briggs and the band’s arranger and multi-instrumentalist Jon Ouin. After connecting with South African-born brothers Rob (drums) and Oli Steadman (bass)\, the band honed its sound and aims\, self-releasing a series of EPs before finally signing to 4AD for the release of Beachcomber’s Windowsill. \nNow\, Stornoway unveils their most ambitious album yet\, Beyonder\, out 25 September on Cooking Vinyl. Widely recognised as a band at the intersection of music and conservation\, the group continues that mission with an album of wild hope\, born from isolation and exploration. Beyonder channels the powers of the natural world to reconnect us\, using music to bring people closer to nature. \nBeyonder is an album for a changing world. It confronts the biodiversity and climate crises\, the rise of divisive politics\, and the toll these pressures take on our minds and communities. These songs are about journeys and destinations\, discovery and choice\, and taken together they cultivate a hopeful state of mind in unsettled times. \nAlice Boyd is a South-London-based musician and sound artist\, blending voice\, synth\, live looping\nand field recordings into immersive folk-ambient performances rooted in deep listening and the natural\nworld.

SUMMARY:Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough)
DESCRIPTION:Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough) | Finnish progressive rock visionaries Von Hertzen Brothers\, return to the UK in October 2026 for a very special run of intimate seated theatre shows. \nCelebrating 25 years as a band\, the Finnish band will present a unique live experience unlike anything they have previously brought to UK audiences. The band wryly describe these performances as acoustic “enough” – while the songs may be reimagined away from their usual electric rock set-up\, these shows are anything but stripped back. Far from a simple “unplugged” set\, these shows interpret the band’s music in a way that is intimate\, expansive and more immersive than ever before. \nThe three brothers\, Mikko\, Kie and Jonne Von Herzen are joined on stage by their bandmate\, multi-instrumentalist Markus Pajakkala whose impressive array of instruments goes far beyond a traditional acoustic set-up. The brothers themselves also show off their insane musical skills\, each playing multiple instruments and taking turns on drums\, keyboards\, guitars\, vocals\, percussion and whatever else is on hand. \nPresented in seated theatre and cabaret style venues\, these evenings are designed to bring audiences closer to the songs and stories at the heart of the music. Spanning the band’s rich 25-year catalogue\, audiences can expect fan favourites\, deep cuts and rarely performed material presented in brand new arrangements created especially for these shows. \nFor over two decades\, Von Hertzen Brothers have built a reputation as one of Europe’s most adventurous and compelling live bands. Blending progressive rock\, folk\, psychedelia and soaring vocal harmonies\, they have earned a devoted following through their nine acclaimed studio albums\, major festival appearances and unforgettable live performances. \nWhether you are discovering Von Hertzen Brothers for the first time or have followed them for years\, Acoustic Enough promises a unique concert experience unlike any other.

SUMMARY:Noah Guthrie
DESCRIPTION:Folklore Sessions Presents; Noah Guthrie\n+ Support\nNovember 7th | The Folklore Rooms\n£18adv | 18+ \nAmericana singer-songwriter Noah Guthrie’s sound has been described as possessing Chris Stapleton’s country/rock grit with the authenticity of Jason Isbell. The unique soulfulness in his richly textured voice and the unmistakable Southern influence in his music makes him capable of conveying emotion as only a handful of artists can in today’s musical landscape. Noah’s latest album\, Oddly Flexible\, is a bittersweet reflection on growing up and the disorienting changes that come with it. The album explores the contrast between the freedom and wonder of childhood imagination with the harsh realities of adulthood. Noah speaks on things he’s learned and\, often more importantly\, things he has unlearned. Despite the overwhelming weight of changing times\, here’s an undercurrent of hope that each new day brings a chance to find perspective and healing. \nNoah has built a strong following through powerful live performances\, social media and television. He has released three critically-acclaimed albums. He has also performed on NBC’s Today Show and Tonight Show\, Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family\, and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. The producers at the hit FOX TV show\, GLEE\, discovered his YouTube channel and were so Impressed with Noah’s voice\, that they recruited him as a cast member for the sixth season of the show. Noah was also a semi-finalist on the 13th season of America’s Got Talent. \nAs a solo performer (as well as with his band\, Good Trouble) Noah has performed at major festivals\, fairs and clubs all over the United States and Europe. Noah has opened for an impressive group of artists including Ed Sheeran\, Ben Rector\, Corey Smith\, Sister Hazel\, Matt Nathanson\, Dwight Yoakam and has had the rare privilege of opening 12 shows for the legendary Willie Nelson!
