SUMMARY:Moments of Kalmfulness gallery
DESCRIPTION:Kalms Herbal Remedies\, a leading emotional wellbeing brand\, created the exhibition in response to research showing that 42% of UK adults struggle to find moments of calm in daily life. Originally developed as a digital sanctuary\, the Moments of Kalmfulness gallery has now been brought to life as a physical experience on Brighton’s iconic seafront. \nThe exhibition explores the concept of ‘kalmfulness’ – a state of feeling peaceful and balanced amid everyday life – and encourages people to embrace small\, achievable ways to reduce stress. \nKalmfulness can be found in simple\, everyday moments – from taking a few deep breaths to spending time outdoors or connecting with loved ones. This idea sits at the heart of the Moments of Kalmfulness gallery\, which brings these everyday moments to life through calming imagery designed to help visitors pause and reset. \nThe concept is supported by research showing the impact of visual calm. While 65% of UK adults say time outdoors helps them feel more relaxed\, over half (52%) say that even viewing images of nature or tranquil scenes can help them feel more at ease. \nVisitors can explore a carefully curated collection of images capturing moments of peace and tranquillity. The gallery includes contributions from the general public and local creatives\, including the Brighton and Hove Camera Club\, offering a range of perspectives on everyday moments of kalmfulness. \nThe Moments of Kalmfulness gallery is free to attend and open to all from 27th April to 17th May. \nFeeling inspired? \nUpload a photo to our virtual gallery that captures your own moment of kalmfulness to be in with the chance of winning a £450 voucher for a one-night escape at the PIG hotel. Submit your photo at www.kalmfulness.com \nT&Cs: Open to UK residents 18+. The competition runs from 27th April to 17th May. One winner will be contacted on 20th May. Full T&C’s can be found at www.kalmfulness.com/faqs

SUMMARY:Flirt Club
DESCRIPTION:Flirt Club | A queer space for flirting and friendship\nThursday 30th April 7:30-10:30pm \nThis month Flirt Club is going Off Script. Inspired by Brighton Fringe\, this is a space to try something new\, say something unexpected\, or simply enjoy the moment without overthinking it. \nNo scripts. No expectations. No pressure. \nJust a room full of people who are curious and open to connection in whatever form it takes. \nThis isn’t awkward speed dating or big performative gestures. It’s a cosy LGBTQ+ social & dating night with playful games\, gentle prompts\, good drinks\, and space to connect at your own pace. \nYou might: \nstart a conversation you wouldn’t normally start\nshare a compliment you thought you’d be too nervous to say\nmeet someone new (or just enjoy the atmosphere)\nWhether you’re open to a spark\, hoping to make friends\, or just want a warm\, welcoming queer space to be in — you’re welcome here. \nCome solo or with others.\nCome curious.\nCome exactly as you are. \nWelcome to Flirt Club. Flirty\, friendly\, fun. \n—— \nOutfit suggestions: \nEach Flirt Club has a theme\, and this month we’re going Off Script. \nInterpret that however you like — something expressive\, a little unexpected\, or slightly outside your usual. \nMaybe that’s: \nsomething bold or playful\na new look you’ve been wanting to try\nor just your favourite outfit that makes you feel good\nIf you want a subtle nod to Brighton Fringe\, you could even add a bit of fringe\, but entirely optional. \nNo pressure to dress up. No expectation to perform. \nJust come as you are\, and see what happens. \n—— \nFollow us on Instagram @weareflirtclub for updates and more details about the event \n—— \nFAQs \nWhat is Flirt Club? \nFlirt Club is a queer space for flirting\, friendship\, and connection. It’s part playful social\, part cosy night out. Think: playful party meets cosy queer hangout\, with icebreaker games\, conversation prompts\, and plenty of space to just chat. You join at your own pace: flirt\, make friends\, or just sip a drink and people-watch. \nWe’re proudly LGBTQ+ inclusive\, ENM-friendly\, sex-positive\, and consent-led — but you don’t need to be any of those things (except queer ️‍) to come along. All you need is kindness\, curiosity\, and a willingness to meet new people. \nIs it trans & non-binary inclusive? \nAlways. Flirt Club is proudly trans\, non-binary\, genderfluid\, intersex and questioning-inclusive. This is a space where your pronouns are respected\, your identity is valid\, and your joy is celebrated. \nCan heterosexual cis men come? \nStraight men allies\, we love you but to truly foster the safe queer vibes we want at Flirt Club\, we ask you sit this one out. Flirt Club is a space made by and for queer people. Whether you’re questioning\, trans\, bi\, ace\, gay\, pan or somewhere in-between\, you’re welcome here. \nDo I have to be single to come? \nNot at all! Flirt Club isn’t just for people looking to date\, it’s for anyone who wants to meet new queer people and feel part of a community. Come single\, partnered\, poly\, curious\, heartbroken\, or “it’s complicated.” You set your own boundaries — flirt\, friend\, or just vibe. \nDo I have to flirt? What if I just want to make friends? \nYou never have to flirt. Flirt Club is just as much about friendship as it is about romance or sex. You can spend the whole night making new pals\, joining games\, or having deep chats. Flirt if you want to\, friend if you don’t. \nI’m coming alone — will I feel awkward? \nWe get it\, walking into a room alone can feel scary. The good news? Loads of people come solo\, and the night is designed exactly for that. There are games\, gentle prompts\, “curiosity corners” and hosts to help get you chatting. You won’t be the only one flying solo\, and you probably won’t leave that way! \nIs this a speed dating event? \nNope — no timers\, no forced small talk. This isn’t speed dating. It’s more like a playful queer social with optional icebreakers\, games and cosy spaces to chat at your own pace. If a conversation gets good\, you’re free to stay with it. \nWhat should I wear? \nEach event has a theme\, and this month we’re going Off Script. Dress in a way that feels expressive\, a little unexpected\, or slightly outside your usual\, or simply wear something you feel good in. That might mean bold and playful\, comfy and confident\, a new look you’ve been wanting to try\, or your go-to outfit that always works. If you fancy a subtle nod to Brighton Fringe\, you could even add a bit of fringe\, but it’s completely optional. No pressure to dress up and no expectation to dress a certain way. Just come as you are. \nWhat age range is it for? \nFlirt Club is open to all adults aged 18+. Most people tend to be in their 20s\, 30s and 40s\, but we welcome all ages\, as long as you’re respectful\, open-minded and ready to connect. \nI don’t drink alcohol. Is that OK? \nAbsolutely. There’s zero pressure to drink. The Archives has a gorgeous menu with cocktails available classic strength\, one unit or alcohol free\, plus non-alcoholic wines and beers and softs\, so everyone’s covered. \nWe’ll even have a Flirt Club cocktail special (both alcoholic and alcohol free). Ordering a drink is also a lovely way to support our host venue and help keep nights like this going. \nIs the venue accessible? \nThe ground floor of The Archives is wheelchair accessible\, and you’ll be able to take part in the main areas of the night there. Some activities will take place downstairs in the basement\, which is only reachable by stairs. If you have accessibility needs and want more info or support on the night\, just drop us a message. \nWhat if I feel uncomfortable or pressured? \nConsent is the heartbeat of Flirt Club. All games and conversations are optional\, and we ask everyone to get verbal consent before any physical contact\, even hugs. If anyone makes you feel uncomfortable\, or you just need a moment\, come and speak to one of the hosts. We are here for you.

NOHACA Tequilatini Month is a city-wide collaboration between NOHACA Tequila and a curated selection of local bars\, hotels\, and hospitality destinations\, inviting guests to discover a more elevated tequila ritual across the city. \nAt the centre is the NOHACA Tequilatini: a refined\, martini-inspired serve built around NOHACA Plata – stirred\, served up\, and finished with a house twist or accompaniment that reflects their venue identity. \nWhether you’re planning an evening out or stepping into a new favourite bar\, Tequilatini Month is designed to spotlight Brighton’s best hospitality spaces – through atmosphere\, craft\, and a quietly confident tequila moment.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Kae Tempest
DESCRIPTION:An Evening with Kae Tempest. \nKae Tempest is widely regarded as one of Britain’s greatest wordsmiths. In a career of ferocious creativity\, he has received multiple prizes and critical recognition across the many forms he works in. \nBeginning as a lyricist and songwriter in his teens\, Tempest threw himself fully into whichever discipline he could find work in; gigging as a poet\, writing for the theatre or busking with his band. A decade later\, this obsessive compulsion to push his writing as far and as hard as he could\, secured him a record deal with UK independent label Big Dada and a poetry publishing contract with Picador. \nTempest’s work has always sought to pull the focus between the global or national concerns of a character\, and the private\, very intimate experiences of their lives; the minuscule and the mundane peering out from behind the incomprehensibly large and overpowering. Whether it’s austerity\, addiction\, communal disassociation\, the planet in crises\, or the death of our prevailing myths\, the bigger picture is always made up of tiny parts. \nNow this May at TOM\, Tempest joins us live on stage to discuss his much anticipated return to fiction. His first novel in a decade\, Having Spent Life Seeking is the story of Rothko Taylor\, who returns to their hometown of Edgecliff\, seeking a place to belong after fifteen years in the wilderness. It weaves together themes that have shaped Tempest’s work to date: family and forgiveness; redemption and atonement; desire and abandon; selfhood and community. Themes that are dealt with in this new novel\, with a deeper resolve and a new clarity of intent. \nJoin us live for an evening of conversation and readings with one of the country’s most compelling artists. \nPraise for Kae Tempest \n“An authentically soothing\, powerful thought-provoker” – Matt Haig \n“Daring and vivid” – Guardian \n“A truth-speaker” – Max Porter \n“Powerful and merciful” – Ali Smith

SUMMARY:Gnod
DESCRIPTION:Gnod | Hailing from Manchester\, Gnod are a psychedelic noise-rock collective that swallow the world around them and spit it back out. Renowned for their visceral\, high-impact live shows\, their sound is both tumultuous and hypnotic – restless\, nihilistic\, and often resistant to categorisation.
