SUMMARY:Bella Hardy
DESCRIPTION:Bella Hardy + Support from Ochre\n£18adv | March 14th 2026 | The Folklore Rooms \n“Brit folk’s finest”\n– Mojo \n“A fine\, no-nonsense interpreter of traditional music and an excellent songwriter”\n– The Guardian \n“Few are as adventurous and intriguing”\n– Songlines \nBella Hardy\, one of the most celebrated voices of modern folk\, returns to the stage in 2026 ahead of the release of her eagerly-anticipated new album. Known for her crystal-clear voice and fearless songwriting\, Hardy continues to push the boundaries of contemporary folk while staying deeply rooted in the traditions that inspired her. \nA gifted storyteller\, Bella’s work explores themes of home and heartache\, love and loss\, with striking honesty and poetic depth. Rooted in folk but never bound by it\, her songs speak to the soul\, timeless yet unmistakably modern. With her new material set to debut during this tour\, audiences will be among the first to experience her latest chapter. \nThose who have witnessed Bella live know the power of her performances. Her voice\, both delicate and commanding\, draws listeners in from the first note\, creating an atmosphere that feels as intimate as it is unforgettable. Touring with her trio\, including acclaimed guitarist Jenn Butterworth\, these shows promise a rare musical chemistry and emotional depth that few can match. \nFrom her breakthrough debut Night Visiting (2007) to ten acclaimed solo albums\, Bella has forged an extraordinary career. She’s performed unaccompanied at the Royal Albert Hall\, learned the songs of farmers in rural China\, sung from the hills of her beloved Peak District\, and immersed herself in the music of Nashville during a year as a Tennessee ranch hand. Her journey has shaped a voice that is at once worldly and deeply personal – a voice that earned her the title of BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Singer of the Year. \nDon’t miss your chance to experience one of folk music’s most compelling voices live on stage.

SUMMARY:Nine Sixteenths
DESCRIPTION:Nine Sixteenths. In 2004\, in the Super Bowl halftime show finale\, 23-year-old Justin Timberlake ripped off 37-year-old Janet Jackson’s top. \nHer breast was exposed on screen for nine sixteenths of a second. A pop icon and role model for many black women\, and an outspoken ally for the LGBTQ community\, the moment derailed Jackson’s career for many years\, while Timberlake’s thrived. \nWho was invested in the backlash? What does all this have to say about the demographics of who controls the media\, and the ways in which black women are scrutinised in the public eye? \nFrom THE MALFUNCTION to THE AFTERMATH and a celebration of RECLAMATION\, Nine Sixteenths is a journey through three acts\, exploring themes of representation and pop culture with a nostalgia for the early 00’s\, and the hopes and dreams of four black female performers through a visual variety of devised theatre\, dance and lip sync. \n“A fast\, fun\, multi-media look at iconic black female role models” – A Youngish Perspective \n“Refreshing bold in its approach” – All That Dazzles \n“Varjack’s work allows for the reclamation of the pride and power that Jackson held” – Reviews Hub   \n“This is not to be missed” – Theatre and Tonic \n“Entertaining with an eye for prejudice” – British Theatre Guide
