Lilith’s Lair

30 Jan, 2025

This month we chat to Skye De La Mare about her monthly sapphic pleasure events.

Tell us about Lilith’s Lair? Lilith’s Lair are sapphic centred, sensual and spicy events where queer and curious sapphics can explore themselves and each other.

What inspired you to create these events? I was inspired by the lack of safe spaces for queer women to meet and explore their sexuality in a non judgmental environment. The parties all take place at secret locations that are only divulged last minute. Safety and discretion are paramount.

Describe the rundown of a night at Lilith’s Lair? We usually start with a friendly chat about consent and safety and some ice breakers. Not the scary ‘speak to the group’ kind but one-on-one activities to get to know a few people before the night begins. Then we finish our ice breakers with a hand massage which helps our guests break that touch barrier. At that point the evening is your own, with six bedrooms and some amazing gifts given to us by our sponsor @shesaidboutique. There’s lots of fun to be had. I do bring a few things to get the party started like my sapphic ‘Get To Know You Jenga’ I made, full of sapphic specific and sometimes spicy questions.

What has the feedback been like from attendees? We have been blown away by the response, as soon as we launched it was very clear this is what Brighton has been waiting and needing for a long time. I post some of my favourite reviews on our Instagram page but it often gets referred to as ‘heaven’ by guests.

When is the next event? We usually run events at least monthly in Brighton. My hope is to expand elsewhere in the country by the end of 2025. To keep up to date with events people can follow our Instagram @lilithslairbrighton or look up our events on Skiddle.

Tell us three things you love about Brighton? Brighton has always accepted my ideas for events (which have included everything from Vampire Balls, Guerrilla Fashion Shows and polyamorous dating nights) with open arms. The sea is the constant in an otherwise uncertain life. The younger generation who are so unapologetically queer bringing such a beautiful breath of fresh air with new events, ideas and ways to be. An inspiration to us all.
