Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr. was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and raised in Paris and London. He rapidly became a worldwide pop sensation with BBC music critics lauding him as the Sound Of 2007. Later that year his first studio album Life in Cartoon Motion sold 8.3 million, won him a Brit Award, a Grammy nomination and landed him a UK #1 with, my favourite, ‘Grace Kelly’. His following four album releases have gone platinum. His own Italian TV show Stasera Casa Mika won a 2017 Rose D’Or and he’s hosted  BBC Radio 2’s ‘The Art Of Song’ as well as the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. He’s even been a judge and mentor on The Voice in France and the Italian X Factor. 2024 continues as madly busy as his 2023 including his The Apocalypse Calypso Tour, resplendent in feathers and sparkle, plugging his album ‘Que Ta Tete Fleurisse Toujours’.
