NICK HEYWARD

Thurs 31st Oct 18:45 @The Old Market

Heyward began his career as the songwriter and frontman of Haircut 100 who, during the 80s, released four UK top 10 singles including Fantastic Day and Love Plus One. With his photogenic boy next door look he was a perfect Smash Hits fodder but after their platinum selling debut album, Pelican West, was released the band dissolved. His first solo album, North of a Miracle, saw him working with The Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick and a string of singles continued his chart success. 1993 single Kite from his fourth album, From Monday to Sunday, took off in America and he found himself an alternative icon, touring with the likes of The Lemonheads and Tony Bennett. He signed to Creation Records for his final album of the decade, The Apple Bed. His most recent release was the critically acclaimed Woodland Echoes in 2017, which saw him return to touring worldwide.
