Having never played or even been remotely interested in cricket – spending a Sunday afternoon trying to hit balls was not on my bucket list. However after an invite to give the sport a whirl at Sixes Social Cricket on Brighton seafront – I’m a convert and it turns out I’m actually quite good at cricket, much to my companion’s dismay! Apparently the virtual bowler was winking at me and they were served with difficult bowls … yeah right!

Sixes Social Cricket is located right next to the Brighton i360, opposite the iconic West Pier and is an immersive, virtual cricketing experience. Sixes Social is a venue where you and your group can try your hand at batting against a virtual bowler whilst enjoying the hospitality the venue offers. There are several cricket batting cages both indoors and out, which are designated for individual groups at allocated time slots.

Each player takes it in turn to enter the cricket batting cage with different difficulty levels available. A virtual bowler makes you feel like you are at an actual cricket ground batting for the Ashes not just the next round! The friendly team are on hand to ensure drinks competitive. You don’t even need to leave your battle as you’ve a bell to buzz for service which include drinks, promotions and aptly named dishes on the menu such as wood fired pizzas, sharing platters and the Botham Burger. Howzat for a pun!

Sixes Social Cricket Brighton has a fully licensed bar serving cocktails and food which you can enjoy even if you’re not participating. You can just enjoy the magnificent seafront location, making it a great destination for a night out, some family fun or a great destination for some corporate team building. Nothing like a bit of competition to bring us all together. It’s fast-paced, high octane and completely uniting. Guests will be cheering from the side of the nets as they watch scores appear on the overall leaderboard! Players are encouraged to book online to secure their net booking, with packages available to purchase in advance.

Sixes is family-friendly with prices starting at jus £7.75 per adult making it an affordable and fun way to discover the age-old sport or improve your skills. Apparently lots of professional cricketers have endorsed and use the Sixes venues all over the country and so do team Discover! This isn’t just about bat and ball; it’s also a treasure trove of laughter and a great fun experience on our doorstep. Give it try – we’re batting for them.
