Say hello to so.sauna Brighton & Hove – the new community sauna on the block. 

Nestled in the gardens of The British Engineerium, this new hidden gem allows you to sweat dunk and reset and immersive. yourself in nature – with views over Hove Park.

But remote it is not, in the heart of Hove – just minutes from community life, gyms, supermarkets and the local buzz of Hove. Tucked away behind the grand heritage of the Engineerium building lyes a pretty and  quiet garden – perfect for a moment of peace and reflection.

Founded by friends and creatives Mel and Vicki, sauna and sea swimming buddies of many years, so.sauna opened in November 2025 with the aim to bring sauna culture to the suburbs – giving users the chance to fit sauna into their busy lives having this cosy horsebox on their doorstep. Working from home lunchtime breather, post drop off or pick up session on the school run, doing a food shop? So sauna.

Community is at the heart of this new business. We wanted to bring a hub to this hidden corner of Hove that would bring people together whilst doing something good for users. Socialising is evolving with wellbeing at the fore front and what better way to hook Up with pals or meet new ones than at a sauna.

The Engineerium site is a buzz of activity – with many independent businesses, freelance therapists and new an indoor skatepark on site.

Come and experience wha they have created here. The sauna has room for 6 people in community sessions, 7 in a private booking. Cold plunge bath and a cold shower give contrast therapy as well as changing rooms and a chill out area.

So.sauna welcomes families with children aged 10+ – especially beneficial for sporty kids or active children that do martial arts, dance, urban sports or similar. Curious about sauna but afraid to give it a go? Mel and Vicki will guide you through the experience to make sure you feel safe and relaxed.

The health benefits of sauna are wildly published: excellent for stress relief, better sleep, improved circulation and metabolism, heart heath, muscle recovery, joint pain, immune and detox support, reduced inflation and reducing symptoms of menopause. I mean, that’s impressive!
