The Student Discount Guide To Brighton

29 Aug, 2025

Freshers’ season is upon us and studying in Brighton is so much more than spending time in lectures – it’s the start of partying, early morning coffees and finding the best spots without rinsing your loan. Luckily, our city is packed with deals that keep your social life and bank balance happy.

Nightlife and bars

Start at Walkabout Brighton, where their MiXR app gets you drinks from £3.25 and £5 off bottomless brunch. The Font serves 20% off food Sunday to Friday with live music thrown in. For pure student chaos, Hobgoblin tempts with 99p tequilas, while Twisted Lemon offers 2-for-1 cocktails until 9pm daily. Craft beer meets retro arcade at World’s End, while Be At One keeps cocktails at £6 all day. Honourable mentions: The White Rabbit, The Joker (2-for-1 Prosecco), Revolution (2-for-1 from 5pm), Shuffle Bar (Mon–Wed cocktail deals), Hope & Ruin (drink deals and live gigs) and New Unity (NUS happy hours). Also check out PUBBL app from The Laine Pub Group for discounts in all of their bars

Food and restaurants

When hunger calls, Deliveroo Students offers free delivery and local savings. With a Tastecard, you can get 2-for-1 meals or 50% off food at selected spots across the city.

Coffee culture

Campus brews cost £2.30–£3.70, but sign up to Student Beans or UNiDAYS for rotating coffee freebies, upgrades, and discounts at chains like Caffè Nero or illy. Tastecard adds another 25% off barista drinks, including many independent cafés.

Gyms and fitness

Stay active without spending big: Sussexsport’s Gold membership is £3.60/week (or £191 Early Bird by end of September) for unlimited classes, courts and national gym access. PureGym Brighton Central offers no-contract memberships from £19.99/month, with 30% off via UNiDAYS. For swimming and tailored fitness plans, Freedom Leisure’s Withdean throws in group classes and an on-site Costa.

Extra savings

The 16–25 Railcard gives you a third off train fares, and platforms like TOTUM, UNiDAYS and Student Beans unlock year-round discounts on fashion, tech, travel and entertainment.

It’s always worth asking in venues if they offer a student discount as most do. We want you to make the most of your time studying in our vibrant city!
