What’s on at One Garden Brighton: January and early February 2026

The new year brings a sense of calm to One Garden Brighton, making it the perfect time to reset, wander and enjoy a few moments of creativity amid the winter greenery. Whether you fancy a mindful workshop, a stroll through the walled gardens or a cosy coffee from One Kitchen, there is plenty to brighten the quieter months ahead.

Monthly Watercolour and Mixed Media Workshop: Sat 15 Jan 10:00–12:00

Start the year on a creative note. This relaxed two-hour workshop welcomes all abilities, from first-time dabblers to confident artists. Guided by experienced tutors, you will explore watercolours, inks and mixed-media techniques inspired by the textures and tones of the winter garden. All materials are provided, so you only need to bring your curiosity.

While January tends to be peaceful, that is part of One Garden Brighton’s appeal. The grounds remain open daily with free entry, offering a tranquil winter walk, a quiet coffee from the on-site café or inspiration for your own garden planning. It is also worth keeping an eye on future events such as the annual Herbal Medicine Journey course, which begins in March 2026 and explores foraging, plant identification and natural remedies throughout the year.

If you missed the January session, there is another chance to paint among the plants on 6 February. Expect the same calm, creative atmosphere and friendly tuition.

Paper Peony Workshop: Fri 13 Feb 10:00–13:00

Bring a touch of spring indoors with this hands-on class, where you will learn to craft a delicate crepe-paper ‘Bowl of Beauty’ peony, complete with petals and stems. No experience is required and all materials are provided. Expect a relaxing, tactile morning that ends with a handmade bloom to take home.

Watercolour and Mixed Media Workshop: Thu 19 Feb 10:00–12:00

The popular art sessions continue mid-month, offering a peaceful creative reset in inspiring surroundings.

Between workshops, One Garden Brighton is open daily with its café, shop and glasshouses. It remains a welcoming, year-round space for food, flowers and fresh ideas.
