What’s On At One Garden Brighton This September

29 Aug, 2025

Tucked inside Stanmer Park’s historic walled garden, One Garden Brighton is one of the city’s most charming escapes. Part café, part market, part green oasis and a hub for events that celebrate culture, food and wellbeing. This September, it’s buzzing with activity.

Cinema under the stars

On Friday 6 September, the Frontier Sapiens Film Festival takes over the garden with its outdoor cinema. Expect a line-up of inspiring short films from around the world, exploring adventure, culture and the environment. Bring a blanket, pull up a chair and watch the stories unfold beneath the night sky. Food and drink will be on hand from the garden team, but picnics are also welcome. (Age 12+ recommended, dogs on leads allowed.)

A woodland reset

If September feels hectic, Sunday 21 September offers a chance to slow down. One Garden is hosting a four-hour Forest Bathing and Yoga session in the surrounding woods. Combining gentle, beginner-friendly yoga with shinrin-yoku (the Japanese practice of forest bathing), it’s a mindful, restorative morning designed to connect you with nature. Expect guided walks, sensory exploration and creative touches like mandala making.

Everyday delights

Beyond the big events, One Garden is worth a visit any day of the week. The gates open daily from 9:30–17:00, free of charge. Wander through beautifully designed themed gardens that blend heritage planting with innovative urban styles — perfect for gathering inspiration or just enjoying a peaceful stroll.

Stop by One Kitchen, the on-site café, for seasonal dishes crafted from garden-picked produce, or grab a coffee roasted locally and delivered by e-bike. The One Market is a treasure trove of plants, estate-grown wines, cheeses and artisan goods, making it the perfect place to pick up something unique.

Why go?

September is the sweet spot at One Garden: summer warmth lingers, but the first hints of autumn creep in. Whether you’re in the mood for film, forest calm or just good food in a beautiful setting, this month offers the perfect excuse to slow down and savour the season.
