Making Waves: The Beach House Sessions

30 May, 2025

You’re tucked behind a camera crew in a cosy beach house, ready to witness one of the most talked-about bands record an exclusive set just a few feet away. You sip a cold beer in the sunlight, a fly on the wall as the producer calls action. Sound like a dream? Think again.

Every month, The Beach House Sessions offer an intimate show with VIP-style access to music video magic. Despite being less than a year in, sessions have already hosted scorching live performances from the likes of ARXX, CLT DRP, Slag, Hot Wax, SOFY and more. And, following their collaboration with The Great Escape festival last month, the name-drops are only getting hotter.

I caught up with founder Toma Lazarov to get the inside scoop on the most buzz-worthy project since Tiny Desk – except this one’s by the sea and open to whoever can grab a ticket first.

What was the inspiration behind The Beach House Sessions? The project is all about capturing the coolest and most exciting new artists in Brighton and beyond. We noticed that no one was really producing live sessions in the city, and we’re passionate about supporting and showcasing new talent. It was born out of love for the local scene.

Can you tell us anything about the secret location? I discovered it while working at a café nearby. I walked into the space and was gobsmacked, it was a total hidden gem. I couldn’t believe nothing musical was happening there.

What’s next for The Beach House Sessions? Our biggest goal right now is to secure a brand partnership or sponsor to help us keep the sessions going. At the moment, we’re essentially doing it all for free. But you’ve got to believe in what you’re doing. It’s so fulfilling to document Brighton’s scene – and, hopefully soon, the whole UK scene too.
