Exclusive: Pride behind the scenes

29 Jun, 2025

There may have been chatter about the new street party location taking over Marine Parade, but worry not! Brighton’s legendary LGBTQ+ venues have united to deliver a brand-new, two-day seaside spectacular.

Revenge and Charles Street Tap are teaming up to present a high-energy stage packed with deliciously camp dance and pop. Expect DJ sets from me (of course), alongside Amy LaQueefa, Toby Lawrence, the boys from DILF, and headliners like The Freemasons and Tayce.

Just up the road, cabaret queen Sally Vate will be hosting a glittering showcase of local drag and cabaret talent, from Billie Gold to Rose Garden, bringing sass, sparkle and a whole lot of heart to the seafront. Between these two main stages, the Community Stage will be shimmering with queer icons including Sonia, Booty Luv, Angie Brown and more. And when the sun sets on Sunday, we’re all heading to Legends to dance into the early hours, or 4am, to be exact.

Festivities kick off with the Ravishing Rage Parade: a joyful, defiant celebration of pride, resilience and unity. It’s free to attend and open to all 300,000 of you fabulous folks sashaying through the streets. And,
this year, we’ve got plenty to shout about. Over in Preston Park, HAYU presents Pride in the Park, an entertainment smorgasbord! Expect thumping dance beats across multiple stages, and a massive pop moment on the main stage with the likes of Mariah Carey, Sugababes, Natalie Imbruglia and more lighting up the weekend.

Legends will be home to the iconic Cabaret Big Top, hosted by Brighton royalty. Get ready for performances from Marsha Mallow, Shania Pain, and the legend herself Mrs Fatboy Slim, Dave Lynn plus a classic camp DJ set from yours truly. Meanwhile, Queertown will be buzzing with local favourites like Ophelia Payne, Paul Diello and Alex Fincher across both Saturday and Sunday.

Staying a little longer? You’re in luck. Thursday: Don’t miss Cabaret Carousel at Charles Street Tap, hosted by Mary Mac, featuring very special guests.

Friday: CBB’s Danny Beard and friends take over the newly glamourised Brighton i360 for a show-stopping start to the weekend.

Monday: It’s time for the legendary Locals’ Comedown Crawl, bouncing between all your favourite gay scene haunts. Expect chaos, camaraderie and glitter, especially if you swing by Broken Stiletto opposite Queens Arms to kick-start your Pride recovery.

Brighton Pride 2025 is here and it’s not just a celebration. It’s a protest.
