Picnics, palaces and Pride: join us for our dazzling summer events to celebrate Brighton Pride 2025

To celebrate Brighton Pride, Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery are offering 2 for 1 admission 1-3 August. Simply show your rainbow on entry to claim the offer.

Brighton & Hove Museums is very proud to present a host of vibrant events celebrating this summer’s Brighton Pride. From joyful picnics to fabulous parties and thought-provoking talks, these events are a bold and inclusive tribute to the LGBTQ+ communities who have long shaped the city’s identity. This year’s Pride programme shines a spotlight on creativity, heritage and community, all set against the historic beauty of the city’s most iconic cultural landmarks, including the Royal Pavilion and Hove Museum. Whether you’re a Brighton resident, a day-tripper or visiting to celebrate Pride, there’s something for all tastes and budgets. Here are some of the exciting events we’re hosting this July:

 

Picnic Like a Prince 
Sunday 27 July, 12 – 4pm
Royal Pavilion Garden
Free, no booking required

Step into a Regency garden party with a modern, rainbow twist. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and join us for an afternoon of colour and celebration at Picnic Like a Prince in the Royal Pavilion Garden. Inspired by the stunning new COLOUR exhibition inside the Pavilion, this family-friendly gathering will feature creative crafts, lawn games and plenty of community spirit. Whether you’re three or 93, all are welcome (children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult). Please note the event is weather dependent and food is not provided. Just bring your most fabulous picnic and, of course, plenty of Pride!

Pride at the Royal Pavilion 
Thursday 31 July, 6.30 – 9.30pm

Start your Pride weekend in sensational style inside one of Britain’s most flamboyant historic buildings. This exclusive evening event offers gourmet food, bubbles and sparkling entertainment beneath the magnificent chandeliers of the Royal Pavilion. Guests will be treated to an unforgettable evening surrounded by opulence and history, while helping to raise funds for Brighton & Hove Museums and Brighton Pride. Whether you dress like royalty or a rock star, this is a night to shine.

For those seeking an insight into the deeper roots of Pride, this special talk offers a thoughtful exploration of LGBTQ+ history in the city. Join Lisa Hinkins, University of Brighton PhD researcher and community curator of the Queer the Pier exhibition, as she delves into the cultural and political story of Pride in Brighton & Hove. Lisa’s work bridges the personal and the political, shining a light on lesbian lives and museum representation. Expect an engaging hour of history, identity and shared heritage in the welcoming setting of Hove Museum.

Brighton & Hove Museums continue to champion inclusivity, creativity and the untold stories of our communities. These Pride events reflect a commitment to celebrating LGBTQ+ lives not just during Pride season but year-round through exhibitions, programmes and education.
