Brighton Open Market Announces Its Best-Ever Christmas Season

Five Christmas Markets, 200 Pop-Up Stalls, and a Festive Line-Up of Independent Traders Make This the Christmas Heart and Soul of Brighton

Brighton’s beloved Open Market is gearing up for its biggest and brightest Christmas yet, promising a season bursting with festive spirit, local creativity, and community joy. With five Christmas markets scheduled throughout the festive period—each featuring 40 pop-up stalls—this year’s celebrations will showcase over 200 unique makers, artists, and traders alongside the market’s much-loved permanent independents.

Visitors can look forward to the usual dazzling variety of food kitchens, bars, and artisan producers, offering everything from street food favourites to locally brewed craft drinks and handmade gifts. As always, the Brighton Open Market remains the Christmas heart and soul of the city, a warm and welcoming hub where the community comes together to celebrate, shop, and share.

A Word from the New Co-Chair:

“This is set to be our best Christmas yet—a celebration of everything Brighton Open Market stands for: creativity, community, and independence,” said Vassoula Kypreos, the market’s new Co-Chair. “We’re thrilled to welcome visitors to our festive markets, full of colour, warmth and discovery.

Looking ahead, we’re equally excited to announce plans for a complete redesign of our Market Square in 2026. This will create an even more vibrant, accessible, and community-focused space for all of our traders and visitors to enjoy all year round.”

New Traders and Events on the Horizon

The Brighton Open Market is also set to welcome exciting new traders in the coming days, including a dedicated Pokémon card shop and a new pizzeria to come in the new year, adding even more diversity to the market’s independent mix.

A packed calendar of community events  and live performances will run alongside the Christmas markets—making the Open Market the ultimate festive destination for families, friends, and visitors alike.

  • Five Christmas Markets from late November through to December
