Spring Makers Fair returns bigger than ever

Paper Daisy returns to The British Engineerium this May for its Grand Spring Makers Fair, which will also feature Sussex Distillers Festival! An exciting collaboration of two local small business powerhouses joining forces and doing what Brighton does best – together!

Both are experts in curating standout events, so visitors can expect a vibrant, fun-filled weekend showcasing high-quality products from passionate makers and producers.

Taking place during Paper Daisy’s 10th anniversary year, owner Bryony Reynolds explains: “I wanted to mark the year by offering even more for visitors to enjoy. I got together with Damo from Dedbest Distillery and Faye from Devil’s Dyke Gin – both regular exhibitors at my events – and together we came up with the idea of collaborating to bring something fresh and exciting to Sussex.”

The Spring Makers Fair will now include a specialist outdoor marketplace featuring 14 Sussex distillers, breweries and winemakers. Visitors can enjoy pop-up bars with tastings and samples, signature cocktails created especially for the event, as well as talks, masterclasses, and live music – creating a mini festival vibe.

This is all in addition to an exceptional lineup of makers, artists and food producers, with over 100 exhibitors each day. The weekend will offer visitors the chance to really explore the exceptional talent that the many small creative businesses, designers and artists from across the South East have to offer. It is an opportunity to discover new products, meet and chat to the makers themselves, and support local small businesses in a truly relaxed and rewarding way.

There will also be plenty of delicious food from local small-batch producers and street-food pop-ups, alongside interactive experiences to enjoy. If you’re passionate or intrigued about rare, locally produced, handmade or designed small emerging creative brands, then this is definitely one weekend not to miss!

The museum will also be offering fully guided tours of The Engineerium in steam, throughout the weekend, and with limited dates each year available to visit, we strongly recommend adding this onto your visit too. Tickets are required and can be booked directly through British Engineerium.

If you can’t make this date, do check out the Paper Daisy Makers Markets at Jubilee Square, Brighton. Running once a month: 11 Apr, 30 May, 6 Jun, 4 Jul, 8 Aug, 5 Sep and 3 Oct.

Sat 9 May–Sun 10 May 10:30–17:00 at The British Engineerium, The Droveway, Hove BN3 7QA
