Masterchef champion Kenny Tutt at One Garden Brighton
Step into spring this Easter at One Garden, Stanmer Park, with a host of family-friendly activities. Until 12 Apr, children can enjoy a free Spring Trail, discovering nature and hidden surprises throughout the gardens.
Alongside the trail, there’s plenty more to keep little ones entertained, including Easter-themed Mini Music Makers sessions, Tango Tots dance classes and hands-on craft workshops.
Older children can try a felt-making workshop, while everyone can enjoy colourful face painting on selected dates. Live music from Stamner Band adds to the festive atmosphere over the Easter weekend. Open daily 9:30–17:00, just drop in and join the fun.
Part of the spring trail festivities includes a BBQ residency from Kenny Tutt. After winning MasterChef in 2018, the Hove-raised chef has become one of the South coast’s most recognisable culinary talents, opening popular ventures including Worthing restaurant Pitch and the smash-burger concept Patty Guy. His cooking is rooted in bold flavours, quality ingredients and a relaxed, sociable style of dining, making him a perfect choice for an open-air spring residency.
Set in the natural surroundings of One Garden Brighton, the event promises the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes spring dining feel special again. The garden itself, lovingly restored and managed by Plumpton College, has quickly become a favourite local destination.
Visitors come for the plants, the peaceful lawns and the excellent café, which serves fresh bakes made on site alongside local produce and Sussex wines. During the residency, the focus shifts firmly to the grill, with Kenny bringing his signature approach to outdoor cooking.
Expect a menu packed with smoky, flavour-driven dishes designed to celebrate the best of the season. BBQ classics will be elevated with Kenny’s inventive touch, while the emphasis on high-quality local ingredients keeps everything rooted firmly in Sussex. It’s the kind of food that is made for sharing – generous plates, bold flavours and that unmistakable aroma of food cooking over fire drifting through the gardens.
