One Garden Brighton July 2026

1 Jul, 2026
One Garden Brighton

July at One Garden Brighton is shaping up to be a celebration of creativity, nature and community, with a packed programme of workshops and family-friendly events taking place throughout the month in the stunning surroundings of Stanmer Park.

Open daily and free to enter, the restored Victorian walled garden continues to establish itself as one of Brighton’s most vibrant destinations for wellbeing, learning and outdoor culture.

Art lovers can tap into their creative side at the ever-popular monthly Watercolour & Mixed Media Workshops taking place on 2 and 17 Jul. Suitable for all abilities, the relaxed sessions encourage visitors to experiment with botanical themes, colour and texture while surrounded by the garden’s flourishing summer blooms.

Food growers and gardening enthusiasts are also well catered for this month. On 4 Jul, the Companion Planting with Edible Flowers workshop explores how flowers can support biodiversity while enhancing vegetable gardens with colour, pollinators and flavour. Later in the month, the Introduction to Soil Health workshop on 18 Jul offers practical insight into improving soil quality, sustainability and planting success, ideal for home gardeners wanting to get the best from their outdoor spaces.

Families visiting during the summer holidays can enjoy the popular Imagination Walk on 21 Jul, an engaging nature-led activity encouraging children to explore the gardens through storytelling, movement and creativity. Younger visitors can also join Tango Tots on 7 Jul, blending music, movement and play in a fun outdoor environment.

A major highlight of the month is the return of the Makers Festival on 4 and 5 Jul. Taking over the event lawns and gardens, the festival will feature independent makers, live demonstrations, artisan stalls and family-friendly experiences threaded throughout the site. Organisers promise the event will return “bigger and better” following a year away.

Visitors can also enjoy the on-site café, bakery and market stocked with plants and local Sussex produce, making One Garden Brighton the perfect place to spend a summer day reconnecting with nature and creativity.
