Wach’Art CIC is delighted to present Discarded / Divine, a new solo exhibition by Brighton-based mixed-media artist Jessie Marie, known professionally as BeauBottletops.
If there is one artist whose journey has captured our attention over the past year, it is Jessie.
Since first exhibiting with us during Time is the Real Currency at Mid Street Lab, she has become an increasingly visible and celebrated presence across Brighton and Sussex. Recent highlights include a major commission for Toyota, participation in Sussex and Surrey Art Fair, exhibitions at Kellie Miller, Brighton Rocks and Curation and participation at Flying Circus Art Fair during Artists Open Houses and Brighton Fringe.
Quite simply, Jessie is on fire.

Rather than rushing to the next opportunity, we wanted to pause and celebrate what happens when talent meets honesty, hard work and generosity. Discarded / Divine brings together a collection of deeply personal mixed-media works exploring resilience, grief, hope, transformation and the beauty hidden within damaged things.
Working with collage, found materials, recycled beach and bar bottle tops and vintage frames, Jessie creates visual stories that are both playful and profound. Her work invites viewers to look again at what has been discarded, overlooked or broken and discover how meaning, beauty and connection can emerge from unexpected places.
Highlights include Blooming Through the Broken, a meditation on resilience and rebuilding; Guided by a Lighthouse, created in memory of the artist’s father and exploring bereavement by suicide; The Echo of You, reflecting on absence and longing; and Rooted, a celebration of kindness, connection and belonging.
Alongside these more contemplative works are pieces bursting with colour, humour and optimism, including Bottoms Up, Strawberries & Cream and Dino Baby, demonstrating the emotional range that has become a hallmark of Jessie’s practice.
Importantly, Jessie has worked hard to keep her work accessible. Original artworks range from under £100 to larger museum-quality framed pieces, reflecting both her commitment to inclusivity and The Vault’s belief that collecting original art should not be reserved for a privileged few.
For Wach’Art, Jessie represents something bigger than artistic success. She reminds us that creative careers are built through participation, persistence, community and the willingness to keep showing up. We are proud to have witnessed this stage of her journey and look forward to sharing Discarded / Divine with Brighton audiences this summer.
Charity Auction (raffle)
In keeping with the spirit of the exhibition, a chose artwork will also be available through a special charity auction in support of Action Bladder Cancer UK.
Visitors will have the opportunity not only to collect original artwork, but also to contribute to a cause that has touched many lives.
We invite the community to come along, participate, bid generously for the raffle and celebrate the power of creativity to bring people together and support meaningful change.
Art can change walls. Sometimes it can change lives too.
Private View
Join us on Saturday 18 July for an afternoon and evening of art, conversation and community as we celebrate one of Brighton’s most exciting emerging artists.
Whether you have followed Jessie’s journey from the beginning or are discovering her work for the first time, Discarded / Divine offers a powerful reminder that beauty is often found in unexpected places and that broken things can still bloom.
