James Acaster ‘Hecklers Welcome’

1 Sep, 2023

James Acaster is a brilliant comedian who is known for his sharp wit and dry humour. Born in Kettering, Northamptonshire in 1985 and grew up in nearby Northampton. He studied music at Northampton College and later went on to study drama at London’s Academy of Live and Recorded Arts.

He has quickly become one of the most popular comedians in the UK and has gained a loyal following of fans who love his unique style. Acaster has been performing stand-up for years. He also co-hosts the food podcast Off Menu, the panel show Hypothetical and is the star of the hit Netflix series, Repertoire, blending surrealism and observational humour.

His new show is called ‘Hecklers Welcome’. Yes, you read that correctly… He’s dedicating a whole show to the heckle… And who doesn’t love a good heckle right? They’re like the spice of a comedy show. And with Acaster at the helm, you know you’re in safe hands. He’s like a heckler whisperer, able to turn even the most obnoxious heckle into a laughing stock.

Acaster has always been known for his quick wit and his ability to handle a crowd, and this show certainly takes that to the next level. He welcomes audience participation, actively encouraging them to express their thoughts and opinions. While this may seem like a risky move, it’s been a huge success so far. Fans have been raving about the show, saying that it’s one of the funniest and most engaging performances they have seen. His ability to handle hecklers with grace and humour has earned him even more respect in the comedy community it seems.

He is not one to back down from a challenge. In fact, he thrives on it. This show sounds like a comedy ‘Battle Royale’, and everyone’s invited. So, if you’re a heckler looking for a good time, or just a fan of Acaster’s unique brand of comedy, ‘Hecklers Welcome’ is the show for you. And who knows, maybe you’ll be the lucky heckler who gets turned into a star. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you. James Acaster is ready for anything, and he’s not afraid to make you the punchline…

The show runs from Sat 23–Tue 26 Sep at 7.30pm (doors 6.45pm) You can book tickets (£30) via the Brighton Dome website, see below.
