This comedian, musician, writer, actor, director and presenter has become a household name over the last few years. He began his career in the early 1980s as part of double act the Rubber Bishops with old school friend Toby Longworth. After both Longworth and his replacement left, Bailey had a disastrous run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and nearly quit to pursue a career in telesales. His fortunes turned with his one man show the next year which was recorded and broadcast on Channel 4. He returned to Edinburgh in 1996 and was nominated for a Perrier Award. Over the next few years he was a regular on many TV panel shows before he was approached by fellow comedian Dylan Moran to play Manny Bianco in the hit series Black Books. Since then he has presented his own TV shows and became the oldest contestant to win Strictly Come Dancing.
